This Sunday, the morning gathering centers around how "It's All Fun and Games as We Share Our Faith."

There is so much joy in the life of a Unitarian Universalist: the joy of expressing your personal truth without fear of judgement; the joy of disagreeing amicably, the joy of walking your spiritual journey within a beloved community.

This morning we will be exploring these joys in a lighthearted way. We may be surprised, we may be challenged, we will almost certainly share a laugh or two. On this AGM (annual general meeting) Sunday, we will be taking up a collection for the Sharing Our Faith Fund of the CUC (Canadian Unitarian Council). This fund provides grants to UU communities across Canada for a variety of growth projects.

After the morning gathering, you are invited for a light lunch, followed by the Annual General Meeting of the Westwood Unitarian Society.

This May long weekend, you are welcome to a Serendipity Service, starting at 10:30 am on Sunday, May 17. Serendipity Services are organized around a particular topic or theme and follow an informal format. Readings, music, poetry and other inspirations can be part of the activities.

This Sunday, your host, Dawn, will take the lead on the topic of "Spiritual Questioning in a Broken World."

Spiritual questions for a Unitarian Universalist often focus on personal searching, ethical living, and community connection rather than dogma. Key questions often explore the nature of the divine (or lack thereof), the meaning of the eight Principles, personal calling, and how to build a loving, just community in a broken world. This Sunday we will explore some of these important life questions and help each other to enhance our spiritual lives as Unitarians.

This Sunday, May 10, Westwood Unitarian Community and Unitarian Church of Edmonton (UCE) are joining forces at UCE for a service with a special musical guest - Tony Turner!

Please note that this service takes place at 10804-119 Street NW at Unitarian Church of Edmonton.

You are also still welcome to the Westwood building, where you can watch the stream.

Westwood’s Second-Sunday Potluck is cancelled. Our monthly community meal will be held on May 24, in conjunction with our Annual General Meeting. However, UCE has a 'finger-food' potluck after this service to which you are welcome to bring a contribution.

Please join Rev. Rosemary for this thoughtful and reflective service.

Tony Turner will be joining us to share his music! This will prove to be an enriching and soul soothing service.

Please stay afterward for a ‘Finger Food’ potluck!

“Who is Tony Turner?” you ask, “Doesn’t our choir sing a song of his?”

Circle of Song is just one of the songs that Tony has composed for UU congregations. A member of the Ottawa congregation back in the day, Tony worked for the federal government as an environmental scientist. During the Harper years, he was suspended from his job for composing & performing “Harperman”. He is now retired and resides on Vancouver Island bringing music and joy to the UU congregations out there.
