Edmonton Se’älite Mihret St. Mary Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church is seeking the services of a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA or equivalent designation) to support the preparation, review, and formal presentation of the Church’s financial records.
This engagement is essential to ensure accurate, transparent, and professionally prepared financial statements to support the Church’s financial planning and its application for mortgage financing toward the acquisition of a new church facility.
Scope of Work
The selected accountant will be responsible for:
Reviewing and organizing existing financial records
Preparing monthly income and expense reports
Developing quarterly financial performance statements
Preparing annual financial statements
Assisting in the preparation of an annual budget and expense report
Ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards
Preparing financial statements suitable for submission to financial institutions (e.g., banks)
Qualifications
Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) or equivalent recognized designation
Proven experience in financial reporting and statement preparation
Experience working with non-profit or religious organizations (preferred)
Strong attention to detail, accountability, and confidentiality
