HUMANITARIAN AID FOR KHARKIV & DONETSK 🇺🇦

Our September 2026 Campaign continues, and the need for humanitarian assistance in Eastern Ukraine remains urgent.

The war continues to affect thousands of families every day. In the Donetsk region, 1,034 shellings were recorded in just one day on September 6, damaging 23 civilian properties, including 12 homes.
In the Kharkiv region, more than 520,000 people have been displaced, while 1,500–2,000 people come to St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral every week seeking food, medicine and other basic necessities.

Our Eparchy has set a goal of raising $60,000 by the end of September to provide food, medicine, blankets, heaters, generators and other essential humanitarian assistance to families affected by the war.

💙💛 The need is ongoing, and every donation matters. Please help us reach our $60,000 goal.

🇨🇦 A special visit to our Eparchy this morning!

We were happy to welcome Bishop Milad, Melkite Bishop of Montreal, and his team to our Chancery Office during their visit with the faithful in Edmonton.
It was a wonderful opportunity for Bishop Milad to meet with Bishop David and spend some time together in fellowship.

Our Eparchies share a warm friendship, and we are always grateful for opportunities to connect, support one another, and work together in our shared mission. 🙏

September 17 — UGCC Teenagers’ Day

The UGCC Teenagers’ Day is an opportunity to listen to teenagers, pay attention to their needs, dreams, and questions, and help them find their place in the life of the Church.

This year, the day will launch a broader initiative continuing throughout the final two weeks of September. Parishes, eparchies, schools, and families will be invited to organize meetings, prayer gatherings, open conversations, sports and creative activities, and social and charitable initiatives.

Key focuses:
-listening to teenagers
-involving them in the life of the Church
-supporting families
-connecting different environments
-talking about talents, dreams, and vocation

The biblical foundation is the story of 12-year-old Jesus in the Temple:
“Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?” (Luke 2:49)

This is not just one day, but the beginning of a longer conversation — to listen to, support, and help teenagers find their place in the Church, family, and society.
