📢 Changes to Temple Operations from Friday March 18, 2022
1. Temple is open daily for devotees between 9:00 AM – 1 PM & 6:30 PM – 9 PM
2. Daily Pooja Schedule: Morning 9:30 AM & 1 PM, Evening 7 PM & 9 PM
3. Social distancing is not required, but recommended whenever possible
4. No limits on number of pooja sponsors and devotees
5. Temple will follow the daily and special poojas as published in the temple calendar
6. Please check temple website or temple calendar for pooja schedule for special days.
7. Outside poojas as published in the revised service schedule can be requested subject to priests’ availability
• Devotees must wear face masks inside temple
• Any prepared or purchased food items or prasadam from outside are strictly prohibited. Please leave it in your vehicle or outside the temple.
• Revised temple entry requirements will be soon available from the temple website

On Saturday, January 1, 2022, New Year
Devotee can access the Temple only during the Temple hours 10:30 AM - 2:00 PM & 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Limited number of sponsors will be allowed to be present during the Homa. Devotees must wear face mask and maintain 6 feet physical distancing at all times.

✴️ Printed copies of 2022 Temple calendar, both Tamil and English, are available from the Temple for a donation of $3 to cover the printing costs. Online PDF versions of the calendars can be downloaded from the Temple website free of charge.

Sundays: 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM

Please check temple website for devotee access hours for special days.
A maximum of Eight (8) household will be allowed inside the temple at any time
We request the devotees entering the temple to be fully vaccinated.

Effective from Monday July 12th, all devotees 2 years of age and older must wear a facemask covering the nose, mouth, and chin inside the temple. While social distancing is not necessary inside the temple, we recommend maintaining 6-feet separation distance between households whenever possible. Please be courteous to other devotees inside the temple. Temple hours will be Monday to Friday: 7:00 PM – 9:00 PM, Saturday & Sunday: 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM. (No access to the devotees on weekday mornings and Saturday & Sunday evenings). Please check the temple website for details of Temple entry requirements and conditions. The Maha Ganapathy Temple is now open to the devotees with limited access starting from Friday, June 4, 2021. Devotees will be allowed inside in limited numbers between the following hours:

Saturday & Sunday: 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM.

Only a limited number of households will be allowed to be inside at any given time (Pooja sponsors will get priority access). Please be prepared to wait outside in your vehicle if the temple capacity is reached. Please do not gather in the temple outside the premises with other household members. Also, maintain a 6-feet separation distance between households and wear masks outside the temple.

All other entry requirements, such as visitor forms, masks and 6 feet separation between households, etc., are followed by the devotees when entering the temple. Please be courteous to other devotees inside the temple. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Due to the current high Covid-19 cases in the Edmonton region, considering the safety of all, the Temple will be closed to devotees starting May 2, Evening for two weeks minimum. During the closure the Priests will continue daily pooja rituals behind close doors. The Board will evaluate the situation carefully and reopen the temple for devotees’ access when it is feasible. Please check the Temple website for reopening updates.

During this period, devotees can sponsor the temple services (except Homas) in-absentia only. We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

2021 ENGLISH & TAMIL ONLINE & PRINT CALENDAR.

The 2021 English & Tamil calendars are available in for pick-up from Temple from January 1st, 2021.

A donation of $3.00 per each calendar is appreciated to cover the costs. Electronic Versions (PDF) are also available for free downloading from the temple website www.mahaganapathytemple.com.

The temple calendar is prepared in accordance to Thirukkanitha (Drik) Panchangam based on the planetary positions of Edmonton and therefore the times noted in the calendar are local (Alberta) times.

Devotees can access the temple only during the temple hours of 9:30 AM -2:45 PM and 5:30 PM – 8:45 PM.
During this period, the devotees can perform Archana to the Moolasthanam only.

We request the devotees to complete the visitor form available from www.mahaganapathytemple.com before arriving at the temple.

Devotees must wear face mask and must maintain 6 feet social distancing at all times.

Please send an email or book online for Archana to other Shrines or Abishekam (devotee cannot be present during these services).
