With gratitude to God for His loving care for our community, we share an important update in the life of St. Benedict’s.

Effective July 1, 2026, Deacon Andrew Yaremko has been appointed as Pastoral Administrator of St. Benedict's. God willing, he will be ordained to the sacred priesthood on June 29 and will come to us shortly thereafter to begin his ministry among us.

Raised in Ontario and formed in the life of the Church from a young age, he has followed the Lord’s call through years of study and discernment. In a particular way, he has come to love the reverent worship and spiritual patrimony of our Ordinariate. Please keep him in your prayers in these final weeks as he prepares for ordination and for his new ministry at St. Benedict's.

At the same time, this transition means that we will soon say farewell to the Very Reverend Father Adrian Martens, who has been serving as our Pastoral Administrator Pro Tempore. Fr Martens’ time with us, though always intended to be temporary, has been a true blessing. He has served this parish with great enthusiasm and zeal, offering generous pastoral care and faithful leadership. Many have been strengthened by his ministry, and we are deeply grateful.

While we will miss Fr. Martens’ regular presence at St. Benedict’s, he will continue his important work within the Ordinariate, especially in Catholic education and other apostolic initiatives. We remain united with him in prayer and in the mission entrusted to us.

Solemn High Mass: 12.30 pm at 3639 - 116 Avenue NW
Advent Lessons and Carols: 7.00 pm at 9928 - 110 Street NW

The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered at 11.30 am prior to Mass and at 6.00 pm prior to Advent lessons and carols.

Mulled wine, mince tarts, and fellowship will follow lessons and carols in the church hall.

This year we are delighted to welcome our usual brass quintet, as well as the choirs of our sister Ordinariate Parish in Calgary, St. John the Evangelist, as well as guest organist Dr. Jeremy Spurgeon.

We're very excited to be welcoming our Bishop, His Excellency Steven J. Lopes, to Edmonton this Sunday where he will be presiding at Mass! All are very much encouraged to attend, and to bring a friend! With the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter encompassing all the Ordinariate parishes and communities in North America, Bp. Lopes is a busy man, and this will be his first visit to our community since 2017. Mass will be held at 12.30 pm at 3639 - 116 Avenue NW, Edmonton. We hope to se you there for a chance to worship with His Excellency on this very special occasion!

St. Benedict's is excited to announce our new homily series, "How to Grow in Hope"! The first homily in this series will be on 8 September, and will be followed by the Blessing of Crosses and fellowship. All are welcome to join, and we encourage you to invite your friends! Confessions will be heard beginning at 11.30 am, and Mass will begin at 12.30 pm. We are located at 3639 - 116 Avenue. We hope to see you there!!

Despite the rapidly secularizing culture in the U.S., many of the ordinariate’s parishes, known for their reverent liturgies and respect for tradition, are flourishing.

St. Benedict’s celebrates its twelfth anniversary this Sunday! Mass at 12.30 pm will be followed by a picnic lunch (meal provided, please bring an appetiser) and choral evensong at 4.00 pm. We at St. Benedict’s are very pleased to welcome the Rev’d Fr. Roger-Karol Niedzielski as assistant priest! Fr. Niedzielski is a priest with the Archdiocese of Edmonton, charged with ministering to Assumption & Resurrection Twinned Parishes, as well as to CYEG, Edmonton’s Catholic Young Adults Community.

Needless to say, Fr. Niedzielski is a very busy man, and we are very thankful that he is willing to make time for us in his schedule to insure the pastoral needs of our community are met as St. Benedict’s continues to grow. We hope you will all make him feel very much at home!
