Our Histo

ry:

Ellerslie Church was established in 1947, being incorporated successively as Bethel Baptist Church, Parkallen Baptist Church, Lansdowne Baptist Church and now Ellerslie Road Baptist Church. We are affiliated with the Baptist General Conference of Canada. From it's small beginnings the church has grown over the years. Major expansion took place during the 1970s, when we moved to Lansdowne. Early in the 1980s a property on Ellerslie Road was purchased with a view to further expansion. The sanctuary seats 1000, with excellent acoustics, a large platform area, natural lighting and good sight lines. There is a nursery wing, office area, classrooms on both levels, a gymnasium and kitchen facilities.

Sunday at church was a powerful reminder that faith isn't meant to be lived on the sidelines. We gathered together, looked squarely at the Word, and were challenged to live with radical purpose by building a legacy that actually matters for eternity.

Don't let what was taught stay in your notebook. Take the truth straight into your home, your workplace, and your neighborhood, and start letting your light shine where it counts.

Knowing the battle is the Lord gives you strength.

When you trust that God is working behind the scenes, you do not need to manage any final outcome. He takes care of opening the right doors and clearing the path, then hands the success straight to you.

You do not have to engineer every victory on your own. Do your part with a full heart, let Him handle the rest, and step right into what is already won.

You know when you're going through a rough patch and you're just desperate to control how it all turns out? That's where that word "commit" comes in, because it literally means handing something over for safekeeping. It is the exact same line Jesus used on the cross: "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit."

Look, you don't hand your life over to God because you've figured out what He's going to do next. You do it simply because He made you, He's faithful, and He is far better at holding your life than you'll ever be.

When a worship melody crosses your mind, apparently for no reason, trust me, there is a reason.

That seed is rising, and the fruits are abundant, since, as the Bible teaches us, our mouths speak what the heart is full of. A song like Goodness Of God does not just surface by accident. It might show up right when you need to stop worrying about your next problem, or finally drop those "what if" thoughts.

You are loved.

There is nothing like walking into a room packed with energy, dynamic worship, and families who are genuinely glad to be here. That was our weekend in a nutshell.

Over 250 kids filled the building for day camp, and we got to celebrate 19 of them making a personal decision to follow Jesus, along with so many recommitments. Watching young people build great friendships, find a solid moral compass, and step into faith is the ultimate win. Huge shoutout to Joe, her team, all the volunteers, and our live worship band for bringing the energy and helping create an atmosphere where families can truly thrive.

Whether your kids were up on the platform, joining Kids Church, or sitting right beside you in the service, this is a place built on hope, fresh starts, and real community. We are grateful for every single person who made this weekend what it was!

When you’re stuck in a mess, asking "why" usually gets you nowhere. So try asking a better question: where is God right now, and what’s my next move? Looking for Him in your everyday routine gives you the muscle to stand firm and keep your head on straight.

Look, whatever heavy stuff you’re carrying today isn't going to last forever. God’s actually using this rough patch to refine you, so just focus on doing the right thing today. Put your trust in Him.

Your spirit is echoing what is stored inside, because scripture reminds us that what overflows from within eventually comes out. Those words do not just resurface on a random Tuesday. They show up precisely when life gets noisy and you need to trade your heavy focus on today's chaos for a clear view of how grand the bigger picture really is.

Rest easy knowing you are deeply cared for.

It is easy to feel stuck, but your story isn't over yet. We have built a community centered on hope and fresh starts, where people support each other through real life changes.

That energy carries right into Sunday morning. If music is your thing, the live band plays dynamic, modern worship that helps you connect with God without any of the stuffiness. Come as you are this Sunday, and turn the page.

Most of us spend our entire lives trying to build a resume to prove we matter. We chase titles, approval, and status, constantly wondering if we have done enough to earn a seat at the table. It is an exhausting way to live!

The incredible reality here is that your identity is not something you have to achieve. It is something you simply receive.

You are chosen, welcomed, and fully backed by the One who holds it all.

"Be my strength, my song in the night."

There is no shame in saying that you believe in God, who is greater than you and me. There is no excuse to ignore your feelings calling out to fill that empty space, that uncomfortable ache that just won't go away.

And there is a place where all of this comes together: a place called church.
