We are the CWL at St. John the Evangelist in Edmonton, AB. Our CWL was established on April 1, 1952.

Our 1st president was Mary Flowers and our current president is Cheryl Place.

The CWL is doing a Donuts for Dad fundraiser! Donuts will be ready to be picked up on June 21 - just in time for Father's Day pre-breakfast!

Did you miss the pre-order sale last Sunday? Don't worry! You can still make a pre-order by filling out the Google Form in our bio, or you can make an order in person at all Masses on May 31 or at one of our CWL Meetings (April 24 and May 20). Thank you for your support of the CWL!

Your Catholic Women's League is hosting a Zebra Centre Information Session as part of our mission of Service through education and prevention. Learn about the different types of abuse (sexual, physical, emotional, neglect) that children experience, and how the Zebra Centre helps the children referred to them.

Everyone is welcome to join us in the upper Hall on Friday, April 24, at 6:30pm for about an hour. Coffee, tea, and snacks will be served.

Tonight, the CWL and Knights of Columbus of St. John's will be leading the Stations of the Cross from Mary's perspective.

Our parish prays this devotion every Friday of Lent. If you have not had the chance to pray with others of the parish yet, this would be an insightful time to pray the Stations from a unique perspective that you may not have considered as much in the past.

On Tuesday, February 17, we collaborated with our 2026 Confirmation students to build sandwiches for Sacred Heart Church in downtown Edmonton. This has always been a fun service project for the candidates, some happy parents, and the CWL women. Although the room is filled with a joyous atmosphere, we took a break to remind ourselves why we are doing this. By the end of the evening, made over 1000 sandwiches, almost doubling last year's amount!

Thank you to all the candidates, the parents and the CWL women for getting so involved this year!

Our general meeting for February is another parish favourite - making sandwiches with our Confirmation candidates! The Candidates will be bringing some supplies, and CWL ladies, along with some parents, are needed to provide direction.

The sandwiches we make are for those who come to Sacred Heart Church of the First Peoples looking for food. We continue to make more and more sandwiches each year, so we hope that you can join us as we help support those in our wider community!

A friendly reminder that our Winter Potluck is tonight! Bring your favourite dish to share in an enjoyable evening with old and new friends. We will also have a presentation on the Our Father, presented by our (now) Past President. We are looking forward to seeing you tonight at 6 pm!

Our popular Clothing Exchange is coming up on November 18! This will take the place of our normal general meeting time. The evening is always fun with time to shop, chat with old and new friends, and maybe encounter a special guest (if you know, you know)!

If you can't make it on Tuesday, all items will be held until the following Sunday to shop after mass. Be sure to stop by - you might find a new piece that will help complete your wardrobe!

Today is the feast of All Saints'! Take some time today to pray to the saints; suggestions include the Litany of the Saints, taking time to reflect in prayer on a certain saint's life by reading or viewing art depicting their lives, or consider attending time in quiet prayer with them, asking for their intercession. All you holy men and women, pray for us!

Apologies for the late notice! Our general meeting will be held tonight, October 21, with doors open at 6 pm. The faith development portion of the evening will be a focus on the Hail Mary since October is the Month of the Rosary.

Additionally, we will be doing lots of planning for November as we will have our Membership Drive every Sunday, our Fall Clothing Exchange as our general meeting, and a Bake Sale on CWL Sunday (November 23). If you feel called to serve at any of these events, please sign up to volunteer! It is a great opportunity to make connections with other ladies and serve our SJE community. See you tonight!

At our CWL Sunday Mass in September, we were happy to award two, very worthy young individuals with our Monseigneur Felix Otterson Scholarship. Pictured is Joelle, a young woman entering studies with the Faculty of Science at the University of Alberta. Not pictured is Theo, a young man entering studies with the Faculty of Engineering, also at the University of Alberta. Best of luck to both of these young individuals on their studies!
