Dear friends of the Maple Village Sangha and in the Maha Sangha ,

These past few days and days to come, we are having a precious opportunity to fulfill our deepest desires: it is an opportunity to make your practice steady and solid. Thay of Plum Village is a teacher of the world, the closest embodiment of the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha. We are so lucky to have Thay as our teacher. These days, it is really the best time for us to put what we have learned and understood to practice; practice mindfulness, care for ourselves, love to others, cultivation and watering the seeds of Bodhicitta. Let's vow together that we will rely on this practice so that we can follow the example and become a continuation of our teacher, our ancestor teachers and the Buddha. The days of "no coming, no going, no birth, no death" of Thay are the most favorable and beneficial times. Let's not miss this opportunity!

Kính thưa đại chúng trong tăng thân Làng Cây Phong và trong tăng thân khắp chốn,

Những ngày qua và những ngày sắp đến, chúng ta đang có một cơ hội quý giá để thực hiện những ước muốn sâu thẳm trong lòng; đó là cơ hội làm cho sự thực tập của mình trở nên vững vàng và chắc chắn. Sư Ông Làng Mai một vị thầy của thế giới, là hiện thân gần gũi nhất của Bụt, của giáo Pháp và của Tăng đoàn. Phước đức sao, Sư Ông cũng là vị thầy của của chúng ta. Những ngày hôm nay, chính thật là lúc chúng ta phải đem những gì đã học hỏi được, hiểu được, để thực tập; thực tập chú tâm, chăm sóc, vun xới và tưới tẩm những hạt giống bồ đề. Hãy cùng nhau nguyện nương vào sự thực tập này để có thể theo gương và trở nên một phần tiếp nối của Thầy, của Tổ và của Bụt. Những ngày "không đến, không đi, không sinh, không diệt" của Sư Ông là thời gian thuận lợi và có ích nhất; xin chớ bỏ lỡ.

The International Plum Village Community of Engaged Buddhism announces that our beloved teacher Thich Nhat Hanh has passed away peacefully at Từ Hiếu Temple in Huế, Vietnam, at 00:00hrs on 22nd January, 2022, at the age of 95. We invite our global spiritual family to take a few moments to be still, to come back to our mindful breathing, as we together hold Thay in our hearts in peace and loving gratitude for all he has offered the world.
