β€œIn the actual big picture of everything, we are all totally connected. Those of us here in spirit, and those of you here on the earth in a body, you're not just connected together at this moment on Sunday morning, but all of your life, before and after your birth, and forever. So becoming more aware of your connections is very healing. It's a very important part of your life as followers and initiates. The curse of money and power is that you begin to think you don't need other people, and you don't need that connection at all, which makes you extremely impoverished spiritually. It's through the trials and difficulties of life where you discover that you really do need other people, that you begin to understand your connectedness to all that is.” - Bruce Mason, inspired address Sept 13, 2026, Cowichan Spiritualist Church of Healing and Light

β€œAt some point you will all leave your physical body and you will be free. And you will take with you your soul colours, the colours you earned as you responded to life. All of the different experiences add either brightness or dullness, depending on how you handle it. But the greatest light comes, the most beauty comes each time you do something like you did this morning. You shared not only a stone, more importantly, you shared beautiful, kind, uplifting, compassionate, joyful words. Perhaps someone here has not had anybody give them a compliment for a long, long time, or an encouraging word. Those are what lights up your soul: deeds of kindness, deeds of compassion and tolerance.” - Rev. Patricia Gunn, inspired address, Sunday September 6, 2026, Cowichan Spiritualist Church of Healing and Light

β€œSo, it happens to be my grandparents' birthday today, so my grandpa and my granny, they were married and they had their birthday on the same day, seven years apart. And something my grandpa used to say, which I'm gonna get all teary now, because I'm sure they're coming close. Something that he used to say was a quote, and it's not his, but he used to quote it all the time, and I don't remember who from. He said, β€˜Life is full of froth and bubble. These two things stand like stone: kindness in another's trouble, and courage in your own.’ And I used to think that meant, okay, you know, you should give kindness all the time when people are in trouble, you be the person that people can come to. But what I'm learning now is that when you have trouble of your own, it takes so much courage to be vulnerable and accept help, and to ask for help, to acknowledge even that you're having trouble. It takes a huge amount of courage, because in the acknowledgement of that, we start to embrace that beautiful shifting and changing. We start to see the season turning.” - Karlin Creed, inspired address, Sunday August 30, 2026, Cowichan Spiritualist Church of Healing and Light

"I absolutely hated the lightning last night and the thunder because of all the fire stuff. But because I had been meditating on letting go of fear, I thought no, I need to let go of fear, and this might sound kind of churchy, but let God. It's like, I don't have any control over that stuff, so why would I be fearful of something I have absolutely no control over? I've done everything that I could around my house to keep it safe and then I have to trust the Spirit world and I have to trust my own feelings. Sometimes we have to let go and trust what's going on, and certainly that's what I've done in most of my life. I've had an interesting life to say the least. And that's why I was like, holy crow, my mind was getting old. I was getting afraid to do things. I've been getting afraid to get out and just enjoy life. It's like, oh, should I do that? Or should maybe I stay home? And as we age, we forget the freedom that we have. We forget what it is like to be not even taking chances, but just getting out and living life. And my mother always used to say, if you do something that isn't quite right, you suffer your own consequences, and then you learn from it. It's like, mmm, I think that happens, doesn't matter whatever your age is, but you need to live. That's why we're here, we need to live, and we need to make the most out of our lives. And I believe with the help of Great Spirit, with the help of our Spirit guides, we can do that. And I believe that as we let go of fear and negativity in our lives, we allow the light to come in. And when the light comes in, it gives you a sense of who you are, not who you are to somebody else, but who you are inside. It gives you a sense of achievement, because that achievement of life is pretty great." - Rev. Carol Ann Spencer, inspired address August 23, 2026, Cowichan Spiritualist Church of Healing and Light

β€œWe have all experienced fear, fear of the unknown or fear of a situation that we find ourselves in, that for some people remains a trigger for their entire lives. And they'll say, I can't go there or I can't do that, it triggers me. If we knew how supported we were through this life, from Spirit, we would never be afraid. We would never actually reach that point of panic. But we don't know. We are testing all the time, and every day, well, so far for all of us, every day, we've made it through to now. And yet, we're still hedging our bets. Are they gonna look after us this afternoon, or is something terrible going to happen? It would be, for each of us, a turning point, if we were to see how Spirit had supported us, carried us, protected us, given us what we needed throughout our entire lives. Sometimes we need a kick in the ass. Sometimes we need a disappointment. Sometimes we need a scare, just to wake up. If everything was always perfect, we would probably think we were very important because everything was done for us, and too bad for those other people, but we're more important. And it doesn't work like that. Everybody gets what they need, not necessarily what they want.” – Bruce Mason, August 16, 2026 inspired address, Cowichan Spiritualist Church of Healing and Light
