Ever wonder about the differences between Mennonites, Amish, and Old Order?

How many groups of Mennonites are there in this area? And what defines a particular group? What are some of the customs and traditions of Mennonites? Are there rules about courtship and dating? What about faith, families, and food that really “Schmecks?” So many questions.

If you can make it to the Seniors’ Centre for Excellence Dining Program in Clifford on June 24, you will hear so many answers! Our friend and special guest, Seleda Frey, who just happens to be a bit of an expert on Mennonite culture, will be joining us to explain much in her presentation, "Growing Up Mennonite."

The delicious menu will fill you to an excellent sufficiency and then you get to sit back and just enjoy the journey.

Wednesday Cometh!

And that means it will soon be time to stroll on down to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Arthur and meet with some fabulous locals. Maybe Coffee Time could be considered a gathering of the wise (or the otherwise!) but no matter how you look at it, it will be a great time of fellowship. And who knows how many world problems can be solved during that time?

Summer is just around the corner (officially). So is the annual Strawberry Social happening at the James Street United Church.

Good Afternoon, Thoughtful Thursday Friends.

Well that was a lot of fun reading through all your 'transportation' stories. I love the memories that surfaced. From motorcycling with Dad to bicycles built for two, and then flying across the country and then some! Thanks for sharing your terrific tales.

Because we aren't running ZOOMs on Thursdays, now, we decided for those who might like it, we are posting some past recordings. We are thinking about some of the topics that might be of particular interest to you.

Greetings, Thoughtful Thursday Challenge Friends.

The weather has been warm and the rains have been welcome. It looks like we are heading in the right direction for summer bliss. Fingers crossed, no surprises.

This month' Grand Prize - a $25 Gift Certificate to Tim Hortons and a $50 Gift Certificate for a gas card from Petro Canada - would come in handy, I am sure, for a nice little road trip. Wouldn't that be nice? :)

How to Get Older Better!
They say getting older is when we get wiser.

Come learn from Christine Platt (from Waterloo-Wellington Older Adult Strategy) about the many benefits of building a strong support system, including mental, emotional, and physical reasons.
