Join us for a time of beading and reflection on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at 2pm at our Main Street location (623-50 Street, Edson) as we create pins to recognize Orange Shirt Day. Our kits are designed by Patricia Newman, a Mi’kmaq artist from Thunder Bay and sister to our own Lillian Mitchell, who will guide us through Patricia’s process.
We will also offer this workshop on Wednesday, September 30, at 10am, and invite people of all ages to join us as we recognize the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation.
The cost of the kits is $13. Kits are limited so please message us here to reserve yours or sign up for the workshop on Sundays at Holy Trinity Anglican Lutheran Church following our 10am service.

As students go back to school
this week, we pray for their year of learning and for all those who support them.

Lord Jesus
Thank you for this new year of learning. We pray for students, teachers & all others involved in school communities. May they be strengthened in wisdom, may they have the courage to face the challenges of each day & may they find you to be the source of all truth. Amen.

“Owe no one anything, except to love one another.”
—Romans 13:8

There is one debt we never finish paying: love.
Not love only for those who agree with us.
Not love only when it is convenient.
Not love only when it is returned.

The love Christ calls us to keeps reaching outward.
It looks like mercy when judgment would be easier.

Truth spoken with compassion.
Courage in the face of injustice.
Forgiveness that opens a way forward.
Care for the neighbor whose needs we might rather not see.

We will never reach a day when we can say, “I have loved enough.”

There will always be another opportunity to love.

On this Sunday, may we receive God's abundant grace and carry that grace with us into a world still hungry for love.

Rooted for centuries in Orthodox tradition, the feast has become the focus of a wider ecumenical movement, embraced by many churches seeking a shared liturgical expression of God as Creator.

We cannot carry every sorrow. We cannot solve every crisis.

But we can refuse to look away.

We can pray.
We can listen.
We can give.
We can advocate.
We can accompany.
We can remember that behind every headline are people beloved by God.

Diakonia calls us toward the places where the world is hurting, trusting that even there, compassion can become action and hope can take root.

📚 Tools 4 Schools is Back! ✏️

As families begin preparing for a new school year, the rising cost of school supplies continues to place a strain on many household budgets. Together, we can help ensure every student in Drayton Valley has the tools they need to succeed.

Thanks to the generosity of our community, last year's Tools 4 Schools campaign made a meaningful difference for students, families, and teachers throughout Drayton Valley.

Again this year, we will:
• Work with each local school to identify their greatest needs.
• Provide supplies based on each school's grade-specific lists.
• Trust school staff to distribute supplies where they are needed most.
• Respect the anonymity of every recipient.
• Ensure careful stewardship of all donations.
• Provide tax receipts for eligible donations.
