Matthew 7:24-27 & Luke 6:46-49 // Through this parable, Jesus invites us to a life-changing relationship with him that produces action and heart transformation. Our goal is not merely to be hearers of Jesus’ words but to be doers of his word, faithfully observing all that he commands us. This is like building a house on solid foundation that will stand even in the face of storms that beat against it. In contrast, Jesus warns that living apart from him and failing to obey his words is like building a house without a foundation—it is a foolish endeavour that will result in a great collapse. Jesus desires us to build a house that will endure the storms of this life and endure into eternity. When we build our lives upon the solid rock of Jesus Christ, we will build a life with lasting significance that carries into the eternal kingdom of God that is to come. What a meaningful life to build!

Matthew 21:33-46 // The parable of the wicked tenants is essentially a story Jesus tells to confront and rebuke the religious leaders in Israel. In doing this, Jesus not only answers their question of authority (21:23), but also establishes his identity as the Cornerstone (Ps 118:22).
