St. Barnabas Anglican Church - Deep River, Ontario The parish of St. Barnabas serves people in the Upper Ottawa Valley from Chalk River to Stonecliffe.

Our church is wheelchair accessible with automatic doors, an accessible washroom, and an elevator to the basement. There's also an area, at the front of the church where those in a wheelchairs can easily participate in the service. We also usually use PowerPoint slides projected on the front wall so the use of service books is often unnecessary.

Yesterday we held a funeral for long time member, Michael Blore, https://www.valleyfuneralhome.ca/obituary/Michael-Blore. The cross, in the middle of the flowers, was made by Michael from sections of the glulam arches that needed replacing many years ago. Rest well Mike, we miss you.

Today we had a show & tell time at Wednesday Communion. Ray & Sharon have been making a quilt top from scraps of material found in Nora Waddell’s craft room. Nora, who passed away early this year, was a long time member of St Barnabas and a busy quilter. She had left behind a bag of scraps that have been artfully put together to make this quilt top. Apparently there’s enough to make another quilt top. When the quilt is complete, it will be hung in the church where we will be reminded of Nora and her contribution to our church community. ❤️

St. Barnabas was busy Monday night hosting a play reading of two very funny original works written by our very own Shannon Dickon. We had a wonderful group of talented actors and theatre enthusiasts on hand to read the very entertaining scripts. Many thanks to St. Barnabas and Deep River Players for a fun evening .
