The Dawson Creek Church of the New Jerusalem is a part of the New Church, a Christian faith founded on the Old and New Testaments and on the divinely-inspired works of Emanuel Swedenborg. We believe that true Christianity means loving the Lord Jesus Christ as God, and loving our neighbour as ourselves. Jesus said: “As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up”

In so many ways we are in that wilderness the Lord spoke about. His words take us back to a story of the Moses leading the people to the promised land and finding hardship after hardship along the desolate way.

We are a few weeks away from Palm Sunday and Easter. Our story this coming Sunday takes us along the path leading to the Resurrection. It’s the journey to the Promised Land of regeneration and heavenly life.

What does looking up to a brass, fiery serpent have to do with our own spiritual work? Let’s explore that question as we too look to the Son of Man, the Lord Jesus Who guides us on His Way.

With the rest of the world, my heart goes out to our relatives and friends in Tumbler Ridge. When something this horrible happens words are inadequate to express the sorrow and pain we share with those more closely affected by this evil deed. We wish we could somehow take away the grief, and only hope that knowing so many grieve with you provides some measure of comfort.
