The Greatest Treasure You Can Ever Find

"Indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord."(Philippians 3: 😎

There are moments in life when a person discovers something so valuable that everything else loses its appeal. According to his own testimony, actor Stephen Baldwin stepped away from pursuing mainstream Hollywood success after becoming a born-again Christian. His growing love for Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit led him toward faith-based filmmaking and ministry. He has shared that helping people come to know Christ is more important than pursuing blockbuster success or financial gain.

The apostle Paul understood this same truth. Once he encountered the risen Christ, the achievements that once defined his life became insignificant compared with knowing Jesus (Philippians 3:7–8). The greatest treasure is not wealth, influence, or applause; it is a living relationship with the Son of God.

Imagine a traveler who spends years collecting beautiful seashells, only to discover a priceless diamond buried beneath the sand. Instantly, the shells lose their value beside the treasure he has found. So, it is with Christ. When we truly know Him, earthly pursuits find their proper place, because nothing compares with the joy, peace, forgiveness, and eternal life He gives.

Many people know about Jesus, but far fewer truly know Him personally. Christianity is not merely a religion to practice but a relationship to enjoy. The question is not whether you have heard of Christ, but whether you have encountered Him as your Lord and Savior. Have you known Him? There is no greater experience in life than to know Jesus Christ and walk with Him every day.

Prayer for Today: Heavenly Father, thank You for revealing Your Son to the world. Open my eyes to see that nothing compares with knowing Jesus Christ. Remove every distraction that competes for my heart and fill me with a deeper love for Him through the Holy Spirit. Let my life point others to the Savior, valuing His kingdom above earthly success, wealth, or recognition. May I experience the joy of walking closely with You today and always. In Jesus' name, Amen……NBM

Why Not Try Jesus?

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”(Matthew 11: 28)

This past week, my husband and I were in the emergency ward, waiting with many others to see the doctor. The room was filled with people carrying different burdens—some visible, others hidden deep within the heart. Then a woman walked into the waiting room wearing a garment with the words: “Jesus is my Rock, my Lord, and my Saviour.” The inscription immediately caught my husband's attention, and he kindly asked her why she wore those words.

Her reply was simple yet profound: “I am tired of fighting in life. I now want to try Jesus.”

Those words echoed the invitation of Christ Himself: “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28). Like many today, she had discovered that striving in her own strength could not give lasting peace. Only Jesus could. He is the Rock who cannot be shaken (Psalm 18:2), the Saviour who forgives sin (Ephesians 1:7), and the Lord who gives hope beyond life's darkest moments.

My husband said he spoke to the woman about his struggle before he met Jesus; it was like someone struggling against a powerful current. The harder he fought, the more exhausted he became. His rescue began when he reached for the lifeline thrown to him. Jesus was that lifeline. Many spend years trying to carry the weight of guilt, fear, disappointment, and brokenness by themselves. But Jesus’ hand is extended to everyone: “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31).

Are you still fighting life's battles in your own strength? Why not try Jesus? He never turns away the one who comes to Him in faith (John 6:37). In Him you will find forgiveness, peace, and the hope that never disappoints.

Prayer for Today: Heavenly Father, I come to You weary from the battles of life. Thank You for sending Jesus Christ, my Rock, my Lord, and my Saviour. I surrender every burden, fear, and struggle into Your hands. Teach me to trust You instead of relying on my own strength. Fill my heart with Your peace, renew my hope, and strengthen my faith to follow You each day. May my life testify that true rest is found in Christ alone. Amen…..NBM

My Sheep Hear My Voice

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”(John 10: 4)

There is no voice more comforting, more faithful, or more life-giving than the voice of Jesus Christ. Amid the noise of a restless world, His gentle call brings peace to troubled hearts and direction to wandering souls. Those who know His voice can confidently say, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life” (John 6:68).

Every believer should always pray, “Lord, I need You more than anyone or anything else.” Our most gracious Saviour not only forgives our sins but walks beside us each day. He teaches us how to overcome the temptations of the world; we might have tribulation in the world, but we are cheerful because we have overcome the world (John 16:33). Whether we rejoice on the mountaintop or weep in the valley, His promise remains: “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).

Many voices surround us, but His tender voice keeps us calm; it banishes the fear that the world will consume us. His voice gives the assurance that we are held by the hands of our Loving Father. Those who know the voice find confidence in listening to Him above every competing voice in the world.
Life apart from Christ is empty, for He alone is the blessed Son of the living God (Matthew 16:16). Stay close to Him, listen carefully to His voice, and let His presence guide your every step. There is no tender voice like His.

Prayer for Today: Heavenly Father, thank You for the tender voice of Jesus that calls me with love, truth, and grace. Keep me close to my Saviour and teach me to recognize His voice above every distraction. Strengthen me to overcome temptation, comfort me in times of sorrow, and humble me in times of joy. May Your presence never depart from me, and may my life always follow the Good Shepherd until I dwell with You forever. In Jesus' name, Amen.

The Journey That Reveals God's Faithfulness

"The LORD watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow, but he frustrates the ways of the wicked." (Psalm 146:9)

During my visit to an African museum, I listened to stories about how Black people from different communities lived through hardship, displacement, injustice, and countless challenges. Their history was not only one of suffering but also of remarkable resilience. Despite immense obstacles, they preserved their cultures, strengthened their families, and passed on hope from one generation to the next.

As I reflected on these stories, Psalm 146:9 came to mind. Throughout history, many people have experienced what it means to be strangers, vulnerable, or marginalized. Yet this verse reminds us that God sees those who are overlooked. He watches over the foreigner, sustains the fatherless and the widow, and remains faithful to those who place their trust in Him.

Life itself is a journey. There are moments when we travel confidently, and there are seasons when the road is uncertain. The stories shared at the museum remind us that resilience is often born through faith, hope, and perseverance. While human strength can carry us for a time, God's sustaining presence is what enables us to endure and continue moving forward.

As we journey through our own lives, we should remember that the same God who cared for the vulnerable in Scripture is still watching over His people today. He invites us not only to trust Him in our own journey but also to show compassion to those who are walking difficult paths.

May every journey we take deepen our appreciation for God's faithfulness, strengthen our compassion for others, and inspire us to live with courage and hope.

Prayer for Today: Gracious Father, thank You for being the God who watches over those who are vulnerable and far from home. As I reflect on the stories of resilience I heard at the African museum, help me to remember Your faithfulness throughout history and in my own life. Give me strength to persevere through every journey, compassion for those who face hardship, and confidence that You are always with me. May my life reflect hope, courage, and trust in Your unfailing care. In Jesus' name, Amen……NBM

Zacchaeus Encounters Jesus: Have You?

“For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”(Luke 19: 10)

Zacchaeus did not encounter Jesus by accident. Deep within his heart, there was a growing dissatisfaction with the life he had built. Though wealthy, he recognized that earthly success could not satisfy the deepest need of his soul. Determined to see Jesus, he overcame every obstacle, even climbing a sycamore tree (Luke 19:3–4). A genuine encounter with Christ begins when we acknowledge that our present way of life cannot save us.

When Jesus called Zacchaeus by name and entered his home, everything changed. Zacchaeus no longer trusted in his possessions or his own idea of goodness. Instead, he demonstrated a transformed heart through repentance and restitution, declaring, “If I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold” (Luke 19:8). Salvation had come to his house because Christ had changed his heart.

If you realize that you are following the wrong road for many miles, continuing that path will never bring you to your destination, no matter how sincere or determined you may be. The wisest decision is to turn around and follow the correct road. No amount of personal achievement or morality can lead anyone to God. Jesus is “the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).

Have you encountered Jesus as Zacchaeus did? An encounter with Christ is more than knowing about Him; it is responding to His call with repentance, faith, and a transformed life. The Saviour who sought Zacchaeus is still seeking those who will receive Him today.

Prayer for Today: Heavenly Father, thank You for seeking me through Your Son, Jesus Christ. Search my heart and reveal anything that keeps me from fully following You. Give me the humility to repent, the faith to trust in Christ alone, and the courage to leave behind every sinful way. Transform my life as You transformed Zacchaeus, and let my thoughts, words, and actions testify that I have truly encountered the Living Saviour. In Jesus' name, Amen……NBM

Jesus Is My Rock

“The God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to His people. Blessed be God!”(Psalm 68: 35)

Life often presents us with trials that shake our confidence, but those who belong to Christ stand upon an unshakable foundation. Psalm 68 reveals the Lord as the mighty God who goes before His people, scatters their enemies, bears their burdens, and strengthens the weary. Because Jesus is our Rock, we need not be overcome by the storms of life.

The psalm also declares that God is “a father of the fatherless, a defender of widows” (Psalm 68:5), reminding us that His strength is always joined with His compassion. In Christ, we find both refuge and security. He is not merely a distant Deliverer but the One who walks with us through every valley and faithfully carries us each day.

The Lord is the Ancient of Days; He is without beginning or ending. He is constant through the changing seasons of life. Though everything around us may change, the Lord remains firm and unmoved. When our lives are anchored in Christ, the pressures of life may batter us, but they cannot destroy us because our foundation is eternal. As Jesus taught, “Whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them... I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock” (Matthew 7:24–25).

Whatever you face today, remember that Jesus is your Rock. Rest in His strength, trust in His promises, and rejoice that the God who saves is also the God who sustains.

Prayer for Today: Heavenly Father, thank You for being my Rock, my Refuge, and my Strength. When life's storms arise, help me to stand firmly upon Your unfailing promises. Thank You for carrying my burdens, defending me in weakness, and surrounding me with Your faithful love. Fill my heart with confidence, knowing that nothing can shake those who trust in You. May my life rest securely in Christ today and always, bringing glory to Your holy name. Amen……NBM

Jesus Is the Answer

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”(Matthew 11: 28)

I am writing today’s devotional to testify to the amazing work of Christ in our church, New Beginnings Ministries. The Lord is changing hearts in ways that no one can ever explain in human terms. We have witnessed lives transformed by the power of the gospel, proving that Jesus Christ is still the answer to the deepest needs of the human soul.

Those whose hearts were once weighed down by fear and uncertainty are discovering a steadfast confidence that can only come through Christ. The God of hope is filling hearts with joy “and peace in believing” (Romans 15:13). Others who once walked in darkness are experiencing the consolation of God's grace and the complete forgiveness purchased through the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Many have found “redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins” (Ephesians 1:7).

Many are also discovering that God's oath, His everlasting covenant, and the redeeming blood of Christ remain an unshakable anchor in life's fiercest storms. As the hymn declares, “His oath, His covenant, His blood support me in the whelming flood.” God's Word assures us, “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast” (Hebrews 6:19).

We are discovering that the strength that saves from the overwhelming flood of depression and oppression of life does not lie in our ability to swim but in the security of Christ’s covenant to hold us fast. Our hope rests not in our own strength but in Jesus Christ, whose finished work is sufficient to save, restore, and sustain all who trust in Him.

If you are carrying the heavy burdens of sin, guilt, fear, or despair, come to the Saviour today. He is the same today, yesterday, and forever. He alone can forgive your sins, restore your soul, and give you the eternal hope that never fails. Jesus is still the answer.

Prayer for Today: Heavenly Father, thank You for the transforming power of Jesus Christ. Thank You for changing hearts, forgiving sins, and filling weary souls with living hope. I bring every burden, fear, and uncertainty before You today. Strengthen my faith to trust in Your covenant, Your unfailing promises, and the precious blood of Christ. Draw many who are lost to the Saviour, and let Your grace continue to bring new life, peace, and salvation. In Jesus' name, Amen. NBM

A Joy That Chains Cannot Steal

“And at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.”(Acts 16: 25)

Paul and Silas had every earthly reason to lose their joy. They had been beaten unjustly, fastened in stocks, and imprisoned for preaching Christ (Acts 16:22–24). Yet at midnight they were praying and singing hymns to God. Their joy did not depend on comfortable circumstances but on unchanging truths.

They knew that Jesus lived in their hearts (Galatians 2:20), that their sins had been completely forgiven (Ephesians 1:7), and that Christ had gone to prepare a place for them in the Father's house (John 14:2–3). No prison wall, painful wound, or hostile persecutor could take away these eternal realities. Their joy rested in the risen Christ, not in temporary conditions.

The joy of the Lord is not the absence of suffering but the presence of Christ amid it. “These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full” (John 15:11). When our hearts are anchored in His promises, trials lose their power to define us.

Believers whose lives are rooted in Christ continue to shine with joy even when life's storms rage around them. The world may shake our circumstances, but it cannot shake the Saviour who dwells within us. Today, let the joy of the Lord fill your heart. The Christ who forgave you, lives in you, and is preparing an eternal home for you is worthy of your praise in every season.

Prayer for Today: Heavenly Father, thank You that my joy is found in Jesus Christ and not in changing circumstances. Thank You for forgiving my sins, living within me through Your Spirit, and preparing an eternal home for me. Fill my heart with the joy of the Lord that no trial, disappointment, or hardship can steal. Help me to praise You in every season and to be a witness of Your hope and peace to those around me. In Jesus' name, Amen……NBM
