This week we are starting a four-part series called Redeeming Work.

Starting this Sunday we will be working through the topic of work in light of God’s revelation to us in Scripture, and ultimately in Jesus Christ.

Work has been twisted in so many ways throughout history by culture and our own brokenness. So we’re going to go to the root.

What’s the point? You work hard and it doesn’t seem to make a difference. Finding a job, keeping a job, striving for ‘balance,' having enough to get by–it’s all so… broken. Work needs to be healed. Redeemed. That’s exactly where we are headed…

We have many words to describe our desires to feel valued, significant, and loved. The drive for significance in the eyes of the world at large, or in the eyes of one particular person, can rally motivation like nothing else. It can lead to great things. But the fear of not attaining that deep-desired recognition or significance can lead to utter destruction.

How can Scripture and Jesus show us the way through such fears? Those are the kinds of questions we will be working through together, this Sunday at 10 AM at Cornwall Wesleyan Church.

What happens when we care too much about who we are to others?

Rejection has a funny way of changing us... Sometimes in ways we don't even notice! What's something that rejection, or the fear of rejection, has pushed you to do?

How come rejection seems to drive us to do crazy things? Can we get past our fear of rejection and use it to drive us toward health?

Sunday's Service was full of powerful moments and these baptisms were top moments for us all. We celebrated together as these 4 gave their lives to Christ. By water and the Holy Spirit we are made new!

Please, not me! Can we be afraid and faithful at the same time? To love and live like Jesus, we must grow in understanding that both fear and faithfulness can produce clarity, self-control, joy and even momentum among the unfamiliar.
