TWENTY-SEVENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Sunday, October 4, 2026 | Mass at 9:30 a.m. - All Hallows Parish, Corner Brook

Come and join us this Sunday morning as we gather to hear God’s Word, pray for one another, and encounter Jesus Christ, truly present in the Holy Eucharist.

The vineyard in this Sunday’s readings reminds us of God’s loving care and our call to bear good fruit through faith, justice, and love. Jesus tells us:

“I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit” — John 15:16 (RSV-2CE).

Whatever this week has brought, we can bring our gratitude, worries, and hopes to the Lord. Saint Paul reminds us:

“And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” — Philippians 4:7 (RSV-2CE).

Whether All Hallows is your parish home, you’re visiting, or you’re returning after time away, you are warmly welcome. Come with your family, invite a friend, or come on your own.

Together, let us draw near to Christ, receive the grace he offers, and carry his love into our homes and community.

We look forward to welcoming you at 9:30 a.m.

The books for the new catechetical year have arrived and are on their way to our parishes!
As we prepare to begin this new year of faith formation, please keep our students, their families, catechists, and priests in your prayers. May God bless them with wisdom, joy, and grace as they grow together in faith.

THANKSGIVING FOOD DRIVE: As a sign of gratitude for all that God has given us, we are inviting all parishioners to consider bring one or more non-perishable food items to our Thanksgiving Weekend Masses – October 10-11 – for the Bay of Islands Food Bank. These items will be brought to the front of the Church as a sign of our thanksgiving. While all donations are gratefully accepted and much appreciated, the focus item for the month of October is canned vegetables.

SEASON OF CREATION: Each year from September 1 to October 4, the Christian family unites for this worldwide celebration of prayer and action to protect our common home. It is a special season where we celebrate God as creator and acknowledge creation as the divine continuing act that summonses us as collaborators to love and care for the gift of all that is created. As followers of Christ from around the globe, we share a common call to care for creation.

The theme this year is “living water”. It explores Ezekiel 47: 9 and 12 as a powerful biblical vision of hope and healing. As climate change intensifies and groundwater extraction increases several countries are now reaching a so-called point of water bankruptcy, that is a condition marked by irreversible losses of natural water. The impact of this world wide water crisis is immense. These issues lead to migration, pushing people into exile, with loss of homes and culture.

The symbol-immersion in living water- is a symbol of renewal and birth. It invites us to a spiritual immersion - praying together, inspired by the spirit of God to work together for the renewal of creation.

On October 4, the end of the Season of Creation, the Sunday Liturgy will focus on the gift of God’s creation.

🌹 Feast of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux — October 1, Patroness of the Diocese of Corner Brook and Labrador 🌹

“Jesus points out to me the only way which leads to Love’s furnace — that way is self-surrender. It is the confidence of the little child who sleeps without fear in its father’s arms.” (Story of a Soul)

Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face, pray for us.
