Do you mourn? Jesus says you will be comforted.

Do you hunger and thirst for righteousness? You will be filled.

If you are merciful, you will be shown mercy.

We are blessed in so many ways: blessed to be a blessing! How are you blessed today?

I first saw this acacia tree in 2006; I was fascinated. Psalm 1:3 describes a person who is like a tree planted by streams of water. Look carefully to see the root snaking down towards where the water will be when the wadi floods. When the root goes deep, the tree can live. Even up to 100 years without water, we're told.

I love the mornings in Israel, especially in the desert: the sun crests the Moab mountains at 6am and spreads its warmth across the Dead Sea, including the desert spaces beyond. After a hearty breakfast, we're off for a day of hiking to explore and to learn the wonders of this ancient land.
