Coming this week to Burquest: Daniel Cainer – “What Am I, Chopped Liver?”

Music begins at 7:30 PM

Direct from London, British songwriter, storyteller, and broadcaster Daniel Cainer brings his distinctive blend of original songs, humour, and heartfelt storytelling to Burquest!

Rooted in Jewish life and the universal human experience, Daniel’s warm, intelligent, and often humorous songs explore family, identity, memory, faith, and what it means to be human.

A veteran performer at the Chutzpah! Festival, 21 Edinburgh Fringe Festivals, and seven Off-Broadway runs at New York’s SoHo Playhouse, Daniel has shared his musical storytelling with audiences around the world. His topical songs have featured on BBC radio and television, while his more contemplative works are sung by cantors and rabbis in synagogues across North America.

We are looking for artists, makers, and small vendors to join our Hanukkah Market!

If you create art, handmade goods, crafts, jewelry, specialty foods, gifts, or other unique creations, we’d love to hear from you!

This market is a chance to celebrate creativity, support local makers, and find something special for Hanukkah while bringing our community together.

Dates and times:

Friday, November 27th 5pm-8pm
Saturday, November 28th 11am-3pm

You may apply for the Friday event, the Saturday event, or both. Spots are on first come first serve basis and best fit availability.

A Time to Remember Together

Please join us this evening, October 7th from 6:30–8:30pm for a quiet evening of art, community, and remembrance.

We’ll come together with our families and community members to light candles, share conversation, take part in creative activities, and make space to remember together.

This gathering is an opportunity to pause, be with one another, honour what has been lost, and hold space for our community.

An all ages, family friendly event
All are welcome.

Israeli Dancing with Julia | ריקודי עם ישראליים עם ג׳וליה

Join Julia for nine weeks of Israeli dancing, music, movement, and community!

Whether you’re completely new to Israeli dancing or have been dancing for years, this welcoming series is a chance to learn new dances, enjoy familiar favourites, get moving, and connect with others.

Julia will guide participants through a variety of Israeli folk dances in a fun and supportive environment. No previous experience is required – just come ready to dance!
