Tiz The Season
It’s that time of year again when you put on the Christmas music and pull out the plastic Santa and Candles for outside decorating. Before even thinking of putting them outside, you check the lights and of course, one light is not working. So, you spend the next hour looking for a replacement bulb. Once that problem is fixed, you need stakes to put in the ground to keep them in place. Of course, you can’t find any, so you take your first trip to the store, and so it begins. Finally, with the proper extension cord in place and the feeling of great accomplishment you plug it in, only to find the outside receptacle doesn’t work. The most wonderful time of year is now the most stressful time of year. Feeling deflated and overwhelmed I go to the mailbox and receive the most beautiful Christmas card.
I feel so touched by this Christmas card, that I need to share it with everyone. It reads,
“I couldn’t resist giving you this card based on how much it reminded me of Salem Church. I work for Chapters/Indigo in their head office in Toronto, where I oversee the buying of their stationery and greeting cards for the stores. Last January when I was working on putting the Holiday 2025 Christmas card assortment together, one of my vendors from New York presented me with this design. I couldn’t get over how it looked like Salem and knew I had to have it for the stores.
All of this to say, I do hope you have a lovely holiday season! Thank you so much for everything you do for the church! It continues to be such a beautiful place for all to enjoy. All the best,
Becky Schriver (Simpson).”
Well, I felt like the Grinch, when his heart grew three sizes that day and the true meaning of Christmas came through. What a beautiful card and what an honour! Thank you so much Becky.
Wishing everyone a Very Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year.
