Hey Everyone,

I hope everyone had a great weekend as the smoke cleared! Looks like we will have one nice day and then rain all week, so that's fun. Anywayyyyy, here is this week's youth updates.

High School Bible Study - Tuesday, Sept. 22 - 7:00-9:00 pm

We are going to be having our first bible study this week. This one will look a little different, as I want your help in deciding what we are going to study this year. I encourage you to think ahead of tomorrow's event about what you might want to study. What interests, excites or frustrates you about the bible? Let's bring all of these to the table as we decide the direction we want to go, together.

Middle School Bible Study - Wednesday, Sept. 23 - 6:30-8:30 pm

We are going to be beginning our bible study series called "What is the Bible?" Over the year, I want to explore with the middle school group a wide scope of all that is in the bible. From key stories, themes and characters, we will move our way through the bible together.

I’m excited to announce that we will be having our youth kickoff next week! It will be a combined event for both High School and Middle School on Tuesday, Sept. 15. We will be playing games and hanging out at Pastor Kim Reinhardt's house from 6-8 pm. We will be playing games and having a fire, all while being socially distanced. We will have s'mores and some small snacks available, but will not be doing a meal so please eat before you come.

Kim's address is 11301 McSween Rd. Drop-off and pickup will be at Kim's.

We will once again ask everyone to bring masks and please do not come if you are sick. We want to have fun, but also stay safe! Please RSVP your youth for this event by sending me an email confirming they are coming.

I'm so excited to get the youth year started!

First, I would just like to acknowledge how fun games night was on Thursday! The other youth leaders and I had so much fun, we are looking forward to more nights like that.

August 25 - Parking Lot Paint Night - 6:00-8:00

Tomorrow evening we will be meeting in the church parking lot (weather permitting) for a paint night! We will be providing canvas, thrifted paintings to redesign and other art supplies. If you have any other art supplies or ideas that you personally want to work with please bring them, creativity is encouraged!

Two things to know for tomorrow's event. First, we will be requiring masks once again, even though we will be outside. It is better to be safe than sorry right now. Second, if you have not already done so, please send me a message to RSVP for this event. If you have already done this, do not worry about it!

I am excited to hang out again tomorrow night! See you all tomorrow

For our upcoming events, I have gotten lots of responses that youth will be unable to make the paint night on the 20th, so we are switching that event to the 25th now. The event will still be 6-8pm, just on Tuesday the 25th now.

We are still going to be having an event on Thursday, August 20th. We will be meeting at SCC for a games night. Depending on numbers, we will either be hanging out in the Dugout or playing games in the parking lot. I still need you to RSVP for these events as per COVID guidelines. I am looking forward to both events and getting together as a group very soon!

August 20th - Games Night - 6-8 pm

Hey Everyone!
I'm excited to announce that we have some youth events coming up before we go back to school!

August 11 - Picnic at the Beach - 4:30-7:00

First, if you have not heard, tomorrow the church is hosting a hike and picnic at the beach evening at Cultus Lake. We will be meeting at Entrance Bay at Cultus Lake at 4:30 to hike to Seven Sisters. If you are unable to make the hike, you can still meet us at the Entrance Bay playground area for a picnic at 5:30. As per COVID guidelines, we need families to sign up before the event. You have until noon tomorrow to sign up if you are still on the fence about it. Betty and I will be there and would love to connect with all of you there! August 20 - Parking Lot Paint Night - 6:00-8:00

On August 20, next Thursday, we are going to be having a parking lot paint paint night. The dugout needs some new art, so we will be setting up socially distanced painting zones in the parking lot. We will be providing canvas and painting supplies to create some beautiful art. Also, if you need extra inspiration, we will supply locally thrifted paintings for you to paint new scenes over. And if painting still isn't your thing, bring whatever form of art you are comfortable creating and do it! This event is to catch up after summer, get to know new faces and have fun! As per COVID guidelines, you will also need to sign up ahead of time. There won't be a limit, but we need to know if you are coming. Hand sanitizer will be provided.

August 25 - Summer Event #2 - Time Unknown...

We will have another youth event this day, but I am currently unsure of what it will look like. Just wanted to let you know so you can keep your calendars open.

I am so excited to finally be meeting in person with everyone! I think we are going to have an amazing youth year and I cannot wait to get it started!

Tonight we will be starting off by going for a walk in the neighbourhood to hand out some flyers for the upcoming block party that our church will be hosting with Crossroads community church. Hey guys, due to weather we are going to cancel the fall retreat. However, there will be a movie night Friday September 14 at the Dugout 6:00-9:00. Please eat dinner before, but feel free to bring snacks. I will have some snacks as well! And, there will be a couple of movies to pick from!! Hope to see you there!
