🏡WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2026!🏡

🏘️What better way to mark this important day then by supporting small scale local housing projects which take care to build sustainable living conditions for their community members.

🏘️It is an honour to support our friends at the Society of St. Vincent de Paul - London as they develop affordable homes which will provide their citizens with a safe and dignified living environment for years to come.

🏘️Our deepest appreciation to all the partners, to the team and especially to campaign honorary co-chairs Shelley Baker and Mary Michniewicz, who have volunteered countless hours to make this project happen.

🏘️ Finally, thank you for the opportunity to tour a wonderful development in progress! The future looks bright and filled with hope at "St Vincent’s on Huron"!

We have watched you serve and watched you grow over the years. In partnership with you we have been pleased to enjoy many a cup of coffee to raise funds for local projects which help so many… and this year has been no different.
In the spirit of this special occasion we send our best wishes and donation for a very worthy cause.

"We are “Santa Ángela,” in service of life. 42 years of presence.
Since 1984, it has been a milestone in our own lives. An institution that welcomed us with love and opportunity.
It is very meaningful to give thanks for this journey, for those who came before us, for those of us who are here now, and also for those who will come after us, because with that hope we celebrate, because we want “Santa Ángela” to continue.
I learned that being in service at “Santa Ángela” is like thinking about the needs of those who have the least, that being in service to life is providing a service of quality and compassion.
I thank Ángela for bringing me to this experience that made me feel that being in service to life meant bringing opportunities closer… especially to women.
What makes me very happy is that the essence of service to the community is maintained.
And we know that serving life means looking out for others and offering our support;
serving life also means having hope, having light;
serving life has been the essence of this entire journey since 1984;
serving life is the essence of the “Santa Ángela” Center."

🚩ONE NIGHT ONLY~ Join us for THE COALITION!
A Premiere Screening is set to take place today, Saturday, May 16th in Chatham. The free screening will begin at 7 p.m. at the Capitol Theatre, doors opening at 6 p.m.

🚩Organizers describe the documentary as a feature film examining the reality of human trafficking, intimate partner violence and femicide, while also focusing on community responses and support services for victims in Chatham-Kent. “The only way we can create real and lasting change is by uniting together and becoming informed,” organizers said.

🚩The event is being hosted by The Sisters Strain, the Chatham-Kent Anti Human Trafficking Coalition and the Chatham-Kent Coordinating Committee to End Violence Against Women.

🚩🚩Donations of personal hygiene items, period products and non-perishable food items are most welcome. Items will be collected and distributed among participating organizations.

🌹To mark 166 years of our Ursuline mission in Chatham and beyond, our sisters gathered with an enthusiastic crowd for the screening of THIS WOMEN’S WORK.
🌹What a wonderful afternoon of celebrating the lives of local women who through their dedicated service are building a strong, welcoming community.

Today we joined with the national movement and call for justice for Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women.
Our action included walking together as a community and the sharing of some refreshing strawberry water.
For some Indigenous traditions, the strawberry is known as the "heart berry" (Ode’imin), representing life, love, and reconciliation.
How meaningful to share in this traditional medicine for the healing of our communities.
