Open International Interfaith Ministry (OIIM)

Open International Interfaith Ministry (OIIM) When we look at the beautiful, diverse world that God has created for us to live in, it is clear to us that God is a God of diversity. Love thy neighbour." Rev.

The Open International Interfaith Ministry ( OIIM ) is an Interfaith/Interspiritual community offering spiritual services, educational programs, and pastoral ministrations for persons of all religious traditions. The Open International Interfaith Ministry is a division of the Prince Edward Island Interfaith Ministry, and was created in 2002 to enable the PEI Interfaith Ministry to work without the

limitations of geography. The Prince Edward Island Interfaith Ministry is a member unit of the international Council of Community Churches which is affiliated with the World Council of Churches and the United Nations. Celebrating all religious traditions

Our Ministry is inclusive, celebrating all religious traditions and diverse approaches to spirituality and understanding God. There is not just one type of tree, or one type of bird, or one type of flower, or one type of person. The world is populated with a multitude of forms which are trees, and birds, and flowers, and people in all shapes, sizes, and colour. This diversity makes the world more beautiful. If we believe that God is infinite, then one place to begin to understand God is to embrace the knowledge that in this diverse and beautiful world created by God, it is only natural that God should manifest the message of unconditional love in many ways to many peoples. There is one God, but it is a God of many faces. We in the interfaith ministry celebrate these many faces of God represented by different religious traditions and rejoice that we have been given such a beautiful and diverse world. We express this truth with the phrase, "The paths are many, the truth is one. Barry King, Ph.D.

The world has changed in many ways since I began my journey in this life. One of the changes I AM PROUD TO SEE is the movement towards inclusiveness and acceptance in the world. For me it is right for two people who love each other to be able to express that love and be together without judgment or fear or shame. A loving couple should be able to live comfortably and openly in a world that accepts them and which allows them not to be afraid and to contribute. We still have a ways to go to get rid of our small world ways but we are getting there. It takes courage to accept your normal when those around you seem different. My prayer .... my hope is that we learn to recognize the Gift that our differences bring to each other and that someday we will learn to expand our definition of normal to include both ourselves and those around us living a loving, joyful and purposeful life.

Being Still is so important. It is how we learn to hear...to hear ourselves!... to hear the people we love!...to hear those who share wisdom....to hear those who share joy... to world around us! and How to know peace....Visit my site at http://revbarryking.com/meditations-2/ and do a meditation..it can help you learn to hear.....

The following meditations are usually about 20 minutes long. There are a few that are 10 minutes or so but we have found that a minimum of 20 minutes is best for people to get the full benefit of a meditative session.

Receive your Certificate of Applied Spiritual Counselling (CASC Program) through the iNtuitive Times Institute (NTI), the seminary for the Open International Interfaith Ministry (OIIM).
We are pleased to be able to offer to qualified students the CASC Apprentice Program. The CASC Program offers professional skills that are simply not part of most spiritual or healing arts training programs. We seek students who have a calling to be of service sharing their spiritual gifts and who have a passion for elevating the credibility and trustworthiness of the healing/spiritual arts.
NTI and OIIM celebrate the many faces of the Divine as seen in the world’s diverse spiritual traditions. NTI provides a vehicle for training professional, skilled Interfaith Ministers and Spiritual Arts Practitioners.
Graduates of NTI's foundation program, the Certificate of Applied Spiritual Counselling (CASC) are eligible for membership in professional associations whose members provide naturotherapist (n.d.)/naturopathic treatments. This allows many clients to benefit from their extended health care plans when receiving your services.

WE ARE CHILDREN OF A NEW WORLD
A hundred years ago, each of us probably would have lived in
a small geographical area for most of our lives. We would have
had very little exposure to other cultures, other peoples or other ways. In fact, we would have probably been afraid of things that we did not understand or that were new and alien to us. Like many people of the time, we may have retreated to that which was familiar for safety and security. Over thousands of years, it has been human nature to reject that which we did not understand.
We lived in a small world. We rejected change and retreated to
what we knew. We can no longer live in the security of a small
world. The world has changed. We are the children of a new world and to live in it we must embrace new ways. I think we
live in wondrous times. Unlike a hundred years ago, today we
are connected to a global community - we are connected to the
world. Unlike any other time in human history, we are blessed
with the opportunity to experience the landscape, the cultures
and the peoples of the world in ways that have never been possible before. We have gone beyond the limitations of mother earth and have seen the birth of stars and walked on other celestial bodies. (An excerpt from my book, Many Paths, One Truth: An Affirmation of Spirit )
