(May 17-24) Each year the global church invites us to celebrate this annual movement by prayer, reflection and concrete action inspired by Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato Si: Care for our Common Home. The theme for 2026 is From Hope to Action. So, the invitation goes out to take ONE CONCRETE ACTION this week on behalf of earth and make it count. Be creative as you think about what you can do. For example, reduce your energy use, review your purchasing practices, plant a tree or a pollinator garden, support the local Farmers Market, prepare a vegetarian meal, use recyclable water bottles or care for a local ecosystem near you etc. There will also be a Prayer Service in the Mount chapel (141 Mt. Edward Road) at 7pm on Wednesday, May 20 to recognize Laudato Si Week 2026. All are welcome.
