We forget our own children, family, husband, wife, extended family, neighbours, which are often extended family in rural communities, are our missionfield too.
It is not selfish!
It is not a lack of "mission"!
It's not a lesser mission!
This is our first mission!
In fact, Paul makes clear that our work in that first mission field is what qualifies or even disqualifies you for the other mission fields.
What is the theological difference been a household church of 10, 20, or 50, if it's mostly uncles, cousins, and friends & neighbours you grew up with went to school with, versus one of strangers?
The answer is..... nothing.
There is no theological difference at all.
Both are churches.
Household church is the NT church, followed relational connections.
Always did, always will.
You speak to the people in your life.
Not the ones you never encounter.
You can serve others in the world, but you serve your family & extended household, & local community first, mostly, until you are displaced somewhere else in the world, or country.
Make your house, it's members your first disciple "program", it begins there, though it doesn't end there.
Don't wonder in surprise why some families see many, if not most, in the faith to the 3 or 4 generations.
There is a reson for that. Someone had the fire of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in them, and it was seen, respected, understood, & caught by many others, they lived it out also. They saw first hand, faith in Christ, its beauty, its life giving transformation power first hand, in their mom, dad, grandparents, or aunts and uncles, cousins, co worker, friend si ce highschool friend, and they wanted the same hope, faith, & beauty of Christ for themselves too.
We see the priorities those family's made.
Now that doesn't gurantee anything.
Freewill is a hard medicine.
Yet, where there is fruit, there is Gospel fertilizer.
Some folks have their eyes on things far away, over the next hill, something after this "waiting period". When our service ministry to who is right in front of us now, never changes.
Never will.

Consider this, has God set it up in such a way that our family, extended household, extended family & community around you now, is our training & testing ground?
What does the church do in times of great uncertainty? We keep doing what we are called to do, and don't stop.
Nothing changes!
