Dear Friends of the Shrine,
May the peace and blessings of Our Lord be with you. As we move toward the beautiful days of
early Autumn, we are filled with gratitude for each of you who continue to support, visit, and
pray for our beloved Mother of Sorrows Shrine.
We are very happy to share that our Annual Celebration will take place on Sunday, September
13, 2026. Our Lady of Sorrows Diocesan Shrine in Mabou will offer Rosary recitations,
beginning at 1:00 p.m., at the Shrine. This will be followed by Sunday Mass at 4:00 p.m. in St.
Mary's Church, Mabou. At 5:00 p.m., a lunch will be served at the Mabou Hall, compliments of
St. Mary's CWL. This special day has always been a time for gathering in faith, honouring Our
Lady and celebrating the spiritual refuge the Shrine has offered to countless pilgrims over the
years.
We warmly invite you, your families, and anyone who holds the Shrine close to their heart to
join us for a day of prayer, fellowship, and thanksgiving. If you are unable to attend know that
you are in our prayers.
Annual members are reminded to renew their membership if they haven't already and
Perpetual Members are welcome to contribute towards our efforts to maintain the Shrine and
its properties long into the future. As a Friend of the Shrine you assist in maintaining the
Shrine. A Perpetual candle will be burning for your intentions in the Shrine and every year on
the second Sunday of September, a continuous Rosary and a Mass is offered for your intentions.
With appreciation, on behalf of Our Lady of Sorrows Shrine, Karen Gillies, Shrine Manager.
