As we approach Palm Sunday (service at 10:30am), we are invited to step into the story of Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem. We will not just be observers, but participants. The crowds laid down palm branches before Him, honouring Him as King. This year, we want to thoughtfully prepare our hearts to do the same. Palm Sunday is more than a celebration; it’s a moment of surrender. It’s an opportunity to lay down the things we carry: our burdens, distractions, expectations, and even our joys, before the King of Kings, trusting Him fully.
To help us engage in this in a tangible way, we invite you to bring something you can symbolically “lay down” during a designated time in the service. These are not items you’ll lose, they can absolutely be picked up again afterward, but they serve as a meaningful act of worship and reflection.
Here are a few ideas of what you might bring:
A journal or written prayer, representing your thoughts, worries, or hopes
A small object that symbolizes something you’ve been holding onto (stress, control, plans)
A photo, representing relationships you want to place in God’s hands
A work item (like a notebook or tool), symbolizing your vocation and daily efforts
A personal item that represents a dream, goal, or season of life
We will also have some palm branches available for the children.
As you lay these down, take a moment to pray: “Jesus, You are my King. I trust You with this.”
We encourage you to spend time this week in prayer, asking God to reveal what He may be inviting you to surrender or celebrate as we enter into Holy Week together.
We look forward to worshiping with you and walking this sacred journey as a community.
Many blessings!
