Wilmot Cemetery - Canso

Wilmot Cemetery - Canso The Wilmot Cemetery site was laid out in the official survey of the new Town of Wilmot (Canso) in 1764. Thanks for visiting our Page.

The site is 2 acres and work has begun to clear it and start repairing and standing any stones.

As the new CBC Community Contact, I choose the Wilmot Cemetery for my first chat. It is April 15th at 610am. I believe I'll get a digital copy of it and I will share it if I can.

Wilmot Cemetery Society held its AGM on April 9th. Going forward our goal is to continue the clearing work, and we would like to create a destinated access road to the site.
The Board that was elected is as follows: Chris Cook (President), Patricia Rhynold (Vice), Melinda Cole (Secretary), Susan O'Handley (Treasurer) and the directors are Gordon Roberts, Harry Delorey, Bill MacMillan and Shawna Horne.
We encourage anyone with an interest in preserving history to consider volunteering. We welcome help at the Site and on the Board. If you have any questions, please reach out.
