Draw close to Jesus in prayer this week, and allow His love to reorient your heart. As you spend time with Him, take a moment to think through these reflection questions from Sunday's sermon.

In order for the the church to work well together, we need more than we have. We need discernment and divine strength so we can love each other well. In prayer, we are positioning ourselves to receive the steadfast love of God, to be filled with the fullness of God. So bend your knee and wait upon God. His holy love is always directed toward you. That’s what steadfast love means. When we cry out to him, He hears our cry, and showers us with mercy, and His faithful and steadfast love (Ps 57:3,10). So seek Him, receive all the heavenly blessings and be filled with the knowledge of God in the face of Jesus Christ, and then share that beautiful news with whoever will receive it. As freely as you have received, freely give!

We have three important updates we wanted to share with you regarding our staff team!

Jake Gole has been promoted to Ministry Associate. Congrats Jake!

Jake will be moving from his role as Youth Intern into supporting our Young Adults Ministry, while continuing to invest in Next Generation leadership development and Sunday morning responsibilities. As he graduates this fall, we are excited to see him take on increased responsibility and help strengthen our ministry to young adults.

Have you ever felt spiritually dry, like you are still showing up, still serving, and still going through the motions, but your heart feels empty? Check out yesterday's sermon where we explored why spiritual dryness is not overcome by trying harder, but by drawing closer to Jesus through prayer.

We look forward to seeing you at our Annual General Meeting this Sunday after church!

A big part of the AGM is taking time to reflect on and celebrate all that God has done over the past ministry year. This year, we had our first full week of Island Adventure Camp since 2019, celebrated Kick-Off Sunday with a picnic and games, gathered together at Christmas, and rejoiced in the hope of Christ’s resurrection at Easter. We heard powerful testimonies of God’s faithfulness, witnessed lives being transformed, and celebrated baptisms. We are so grateful for this community of believers and for the many ways God has been at work among us and in our community throughout the year.

This week, let’s ask God to help us grow in love for those around us. These questions are a great first step in helping us identify people who may need encouragement, support, or prayer, and in opening our hearts to care for them more intentionally.

We are all challenged by the difficulty of loving others. It is said that the world will know that we are Christians because of our love for one another. And yet, that often seems to be the very reason people do not choose Jesus, because Christians are squabbling, throwing stones, blaming, and more. How can we grow in love? How can we learn to love the impossible person that always seems to rub us the wrong way? It’s simple, and yet it’s hard. We must learn to pray. You can start right now.

In yesterday's sermon, Pastor Steve unpacked 1 Thessalonians 3:9-13, where the apostle Paul shows us what it looks like to pray with gratitude, intentionality, and deep spiritual concern for others. We explored how encouragement strengthens faith, why earnest prayer matters, and how God often uses us as part of the answer to our prayers. Check out the sermon below if you missed it!
