Jesus Christ’s selfless acts of service brought peace to the blind, the leprous, the lonely, and the sin-laden. Watch how the Burnetts followed His example to find peace in the midst of tragic loss at http://www.mor.mn/EbkI

We're still working out what do do with our page. We continue our work without the specific calling as missionaries. Here's a good post specifically about loving all our church family: https://nerdygaymormon.tumblr.com/post/159164583009/so-do-you-remember-the-guy-in-yesterdays-general

So do you remember the guy in yesterday’s General Conference session (April 2017) who shared the ultimate “Flirt to Convert” story? The guy who was surprised the girl told him “No” because he thought...

Something has come up for us; friends at home will be seeing us soon. Actually tomorrow. We'll be welcoming Elder Dallen Andersen home on Friday. He's completing his LDS mission honorably, though early, due to a serious medical condition.

This will keep him home for several months as he heals. We're asking, and thanking, everyone for a warm and welcoming homecoming. Because this is severe complication of SAD (seasonal affective disorder), it's best to not talk about future plans, unless he initiates the conversation.

We don't know the plan for our mission, in case you're curious, but will be continuing to work on several Canada projects. Elder Andersen's health comes first, and we don't have a time frame for that.

Fun new (to us) video: Mormons in 90 seconds.

Mormons strive to be actively involved in their church community, believing that stronger church communities lead to a stronger society.

We're getting to know our area, both the Siksika Branch and the Strathmore Ward. We're feeling the love of being here and knowing them. The branch has 90% inactivity, the ward quite a bit less. However, a similar thing is occurring in both: a very small number of families are doing most everything. Not like we can do a lot about that, it's the way things are being done, but we are starting to visit. When we do, we individually take someone active to visit those on the edge of activity, and hope to then take them along, and see if we can make some positive things happen.

That makes me think of something Mormons everywhere do: we send around a sign-up sheet, which the same group of people sign. As we're preparing a Christmas event here, I asked that they not do that, but call down the Ward list instead. There are those who would serve or participate, but are rarely asked. Let's confess, we need them, not the other way round.

(Thought from Steve: When Christ called his apostles, did He send around a sign-up sheet?)

This a new series on mormonchannel.org. Real stories and hopeful perspectives. Be patient with the first couple of minutes, he has a great set of concentric circles, a different way of talking about our body, mind and spirit.

One day a 17-year-old girl with scars on her face and no balance walked into Matt Townsend’s relationship coaching practice. She had been in a terrible car accident that had left her physically and emotionally deformed.

There is a brief mention of many organizations that help. Thankfully there are so many of them; this video shows we feel about it and what The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is doing. Not all Church members, noting, and not actors.

In the April 2016 general conference, Elder Patrick Kearon spoke of the Savior’s connection to refugees, “At various points in His ministry, Jesus found Himself threatened and His life in danger, ultimately submitting to the designs of evil men who had plotted His death.”

We're working in the Strathmore Ward and Siksika Branch. Siksika means Blackfoot. The Branch building is right on the border of Siksika Nation. We also gather content for Canada.lds.org. Let us know what you'd like to see on that site!
