What a wonderful Pride Sunday at Symons Valley United Church!

During worship, Rev. Vicki McPhee reflected on Matthew 5:14–16 and Jesus’ call to let our light shine. Pride Sunday reminds us that our Affirming commitment is more than something we say—it is something we are called to live. Check out the Service here:

And our Pride Sunday didn’t end when worship did! Members of our community headed downtown following the service to join the Calgary Pride Parade and stand alongside our 2SLGBTQIA+ neighbours.

Symons Valley United Church is thrilled to welcome Simon Middleton as our new Youth Leader! Simon grew up attending Symons Valley with his family. He has spent a number of years involved in youth leadership within the United Church, as a leader of Calgary Youth Council, a counsellor at Camp Kasota West, and as a youth leader at Deer Park United Church. Simon is a Primary Care Paramedic, and is currently attending the Advanced Care Paramedicine program at Portage College.
