Youth suppers are on the 3rd Sunday monthly. There's food, fun, prayer, and learning to follow Jesus together.

At last year's Vineyard Canada Gather event, David Ruis sat down with Epic's own David Ross to discuss God using foolishness to shame the wise, how hypocrisy being exposed in the Church clarifies the Way of Jesus, and what surrender actually looks like in seasons of suffering.

David Ross is one of our elders at Epic Vineyard. He is also is a professor at Alberta Bible College, and an emerging theologian in the Vineyard movement. Through his writing on his blog ‘Renewing Renewal’ and his work in the classroom and local church, David is passionate for bringing together Scripture, theology, Christian tradition and the life of the Spirit.

It's a Home Sunday!

We're looking forward to gathering in community groups in homes throughout the city this weekend. As we journey with a small group of people regularly, we cultivate depth, vulnerability, and a shared commitment for transformation.

This is counter cultural in our individualistic world. It’s a spiritual practice; it’s how we grow through life together.

Not part of a community group, but want to participate? Join us at the Hub at 4pm. A small group will gather there as well, and you're always welcome!

"God loves a cheerful giver."
-2 Corinthians 9:7

Have you noticed the Jug of Cheerful Giving at the Hub?

In this day of e-transfers and automatic withdrawals, we don't pass an offering plate on Sundays. Without that physical symbol, we realized our kids didn't have a way for giving to be modelled or for them to participate. This Jug is the result.

Watching our kids be generous makes our hearts glad! And the funds they donate go towards special projects in our city and beyond, like the playhouse the bought, cleaned, and donated to a local organization.

As we approach Thanksgiving, we are grateful for all God has done among us, and given us. From what He's given us, we give back.

"Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver." - 2 Corinthians 9:7

Would you pray with us?
Father, please teach our hearts to give gladly and generously.
Help us to see the needs around us, and not to hold too tightly to the things we have. Help us to experientially understand what you meant when you said, 'there is more joy in giving than receiving.' Amen.

A new Epic Kids board game is in the library!

Last night the Epic Kids volunteers got together for dinner, appreciating how they serve in the life of the church, and guinea pigging a new game to play with the kids!

"Upside Down Kingdom," has all kinds of twists, like "suffering falls," which shoots you ahead on your journey, or the "storm of fear and worry," that sets you back. The artwork is beautiful, the game play was smooth, the kingdom values it teaches have depth, and it's full of silly humour, too!

Want to get in on the fun? You may have to start serving with Epic Kids! 😏😉

All jokes aside though, you'll find one copy of the game on the library cart, available to try at home, too.

Community Groups launch tomorrow!

Sunday, Sep 27, we'll meet in community groups in homes throughout the city, instead of having a usual service at the Hub. It's a Home Sunday.

We'll worship, pray, take communion, and learn about the Prayer Practice through a video series from Practicing the Way. We're looking forward to being together in smaller groups to deepen our relationships with one another and our discipleship to Jesus.

Throughout the autumn we'll alternate between gathering at the Hub and in community groups. It's our Home/Hub rhythm.

If you're not part of a community group, but want to participate on Home Sundays, join us at the Hub at 4pm. A small group will gather there as well, and you're always welcome!
