St. Barnabas Anglican Church - Calgary It is the mission of St. Barnabas Anglican Church to use the gifts that God has given us in Christian service to others. St.

We are inviting to all and welcome you to join us. Barnabas Anglican Church offers two services of worship on Sunday morning. There is a quiet traditional service at 8:30 AM and a a family service (including Sunday school and choir) at 10:15 AM. On Wednesdays, there is a simple Eucharist service at noon. We are part of the Diocese of Calgary, and the Anglican Church of Canada.

St Barnabas Church Calgary ca1930 & 2026. ➡️➡️

📸 The Then photo is thanks to the UofC Archives and shows the first St Barnabas Church in Hillhurst, close to a century ago. Built in the early 1910s, it burned down in 1957 and the following year was replaced by the current structure.

However, the original bell tower was saved and incorporated into the new building.

If we stood where the original photographer did, the tower would not be visible any more. The second St Barnabas is taller and blocks the view, so we had to circle right to see.

Do you see those steps in the old photo (bottom left)? They're gone, but a section of the original sidewalk at the bottom was retained. Check the comments to see.
