The Ascension of the Lord is one of the seven principal feast days of the church and takes place today, 40 days after Jesus's resurrection. Because it is always on a Thursday, we typically celebrate it on the Sunday following. This year, Ascension Sunday is May 17.

Go and make disciples of all nations, says the Lord; I am with you always, to the close of the age. (Matthew 28:19-20)

Our services are at 8:30 AM and 10:15 AM. Please join us!

Join us this Sunday for Palm Sunday as we remember Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem on the back of a humble donkey as the crowd waved palm branches to welcome him. And then, in sharp contrast, we will have a dramatic reading of the St. Matthew's Gospel account of the crucifixion. It's a powerful service and we would love to have you join us at 10:15 AM.

Next to Riley Park, St. Barnabas is wheelchair. (Please note that the intersection of 5th Ave NW and 12 St NW is temporarily closed due to the installation of a traffic light.)

Today is the Feast of the Annunciation, which marks the visit of the angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary, announcing that she was to become the mother of Jesus.

The Feast falls exactly nine months before Christmas Day, when we celebrate Jesus’ birth.

“And now, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you will name him Jesus.

He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his ancestor David.”

Luke 1.31-32
