Made by God and for God
You have searched me, Lord,
and you know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
you perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
you are familiar with all my ways.
Before a word is on my tongue
you, Lord, know it completely.
You hem me in behind and before,
and you lay your hand upon me.
Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.
Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
Psalm 139:1-10 NLT
Life has a way of throwing challenges our way, often leaving us questioning our worth, direction, and faith. It's precisely at times like these that I find it crucial to lean on the eternal truths that God offers us.
Let's begin with the most foundational of all truths: you are made by God and for God. This is not a clichĂŠ; it's a divine reality that ought to shape our lives. Your very existence is the result of divine craftsmanship. According to Psalm 139, God knows your thoughts, your movements, and every word before you even speak it. Think about that. You're perpetually in the presence of the Holy Spirit, even if you don't always feel it.
When you're facing the heaviness of life's uncertainties, remember that you can never outrun God's Spirit. Whether you're soaring in happiness or sinking in despair, His hand guides and holds you. You're never too far gone, never too lost, never too broken for God. There's immense comfort in realizing that you can't escape His love.
In a world that often evaluates us based on appearances or accomplishments, it's easy to feel like we don't measure up. But God's perspective is vastly different. You were created in His image, uniquely and wonderfully made, with a value that transcends earthly standards. God looked at the essence of who you are and called it "good."
If ever you question your worth or purpose, remember the extraordinary lengths to which God has gone to demonstrate His love for you. Jesus's sacrifice was an ultimate act of love, making you not just a creation, but a child of God. It's in this relationship that you'll find the purest form of contentment and satisfaction.
So, what do you value, my friend? Is there anything stealing your focus from the only source of eternal satisfactionâJesus? It's time to recalibrate, to let go of what doesn't serve your spiritual growth. The Holy Spirit within you is not just a passive observer; it's a catalyst for change, a source of courage, hope, and love that is always available.
Take some time today to speak to your heavenly Father. Ask Him to help you comprehendâin both mind and heartâthe depth of His love for you. Let the Holy Spirit stir up faith within you, refresh your soul, and renew your mind. You are not alone; you never were and never will be.
Have the peace that surpasses all understanding and the courage to walk boldly in your faith.
