We envision living in the shalom of God, in true peace, justice, and wholeness, where all our relationships are set right; where the story of God’s love is lived out in the way we share in each other’s celebrations and bear one another’s burdens. We imagine being changed by each other through conversation, listening and sharing our stories and perspectives; where our diverse languages and cultures are celebrated and our differences bring us closer rather than push us apart. We aspire to be a people drawn by God into a sheltering community; where our faith is expressed through prayer, gathering, and the breaking of bread. Land Acknowledgement
In the spirit of reconciliation, recognising truth and fostering healing, we acknowledge the history and lives of those who stood on these lands, where the Bow and Elbow rivers meet, long before the settlers came. We seek to remember the stories of the peoples who have made this land their home since time immemorial; the peoples of the Blackfoot Confederacy, which includes the Siksika, Kainai, and Piikani; The Tsuut’ina; the îethka Nakoda Nations, which includes the Chiniki, Bearspaw and Goodstoney; and Districts 5 and 6 of the Otipemisiwak Métis Government. We acknowledge that as we live, work, play and gather to worship on this land, we weave our stories with those of the settlers and the indigenous peoples of this region, and we recognise that together we are all Treaty 7 people.
