The World’s Most Fascinating Man
In the beginning I didn’t actually intend to write a book. I simply wanted to add a bit of levity into what could have been considered very austere work related e-mails. I began adding a daily “Fun Fact” to each e-mail I sent. My work mates seemed to enjoy these often amusing, sometimes thought provoking but always interesting little facts. Instead of having only
one daily fact I would include a different fact on each e-mail. As time went on I was amassing quite a collection of trivia. After I compiled a fair amount of trivia tidbits I decided to sort them into categories and earnestly attempt to create a book. The fun part was researching these little nuggets of fact and learning new things. It was because most of what I was researching was new and fascinating that the title of my book, “I Didn’t Know That” was born. I added the “Holy Sh*t” part later because I decided I wanted to continue on this journey and write more books. My intention is to produce a series of “Holy Sh*t” Trivia books. I only have about two years left until retirement, at which time I can really get serious about writing. Maybe even a couple of new and exciting trivia editions per year. Just for humour’s sake I was going to label myself “The World’s Most Interesting Man” like the “Dos Equis” guy in those really great beer commercials. But then I thought, he has already laid claim to that title and frankly, I am happy to only be the ”Second Most Interesting Man” as long as I am, “The World’s Most Fascinating Man”.
