Well, the AV Malawi Summer Team has officially ended, and everyone has gone their separate ways, but what we have experienced and gone through together will not soon be forgotten. I so appreciate every person on this team, and all who have helped and supported us along the way. Thanks Sarah, Mama and Papa, Andreas and Deborah and Adrienne for making our time in Malawi unforgettable. God is continuing to work in our hearts, and in Malawi. Please continue to pray for those serving God there. I've been trying to load a video of our team, but it's currently not working. Hopefully You'll be able to see it soon :)

Just wanted to let you all know that we've made it safely back to Canada. We arrived yesterday, and will be spending the next couple days wrapping up and processing what we've experienced.

Today we had our last official ministry program. We were supposed to be training children's ministry leaders, but ended up teaching children all morning. It was a great group of kids, and was a really neat end to our time here. The rest of the day has been spent packing and getting ready to go. We leave for Lilongwe around 6:30am. We all have many stories to tell and things we have learned. We will try to share some of them when we return to Canada. Please pray for us as we travel, especially for health. We appreciate each one of you so much. Thanks for praying!

No, Katy isn't having an issue with Caleb (photo)! She is 'slapping him' in one of our emotional impact dramas. The team is doing well. Heard from a man today that lost his wife to malaria. I was blessed by his gentle and gracious spirit. Thankful that we have a God that is faithful in the toughest of places and that we can have a part in bringing hope, help and food to the needy.

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for your prayers and support! We are doing well. Today we were at a village where the girls and the guys split to do two programs at the same time. Taylor, Katy and myself (Kimmie) helped with a women's program in a Church. It was quite simple: we sang with them, did a drama, shared our stories, and I gave a message. We told the story of the book of Ruth and told of redemption. I was pretty nervous; we did a women's program the week before, and the message part was lacking. I prayed all morning asking God to speak through us and give us the words to say. He answered that prayer. the women took the message very seriously, and it was evident they were thinking on what was said. I had the opportunity at the end to pray for a lady battling an addiction. I'm so thankful that the Holy Spirit is moving and active in our lives, and that we are not on our own.

We spent both Sunday and Monday in Mafunda, a village where a friend of ours, Joseph Kololo, is a pastor. After our service for the church congregation on Sunday, people came up to be prayed over, and I prayed over one woman, Chisomo (Grace in english). I felt specifically called to pray for healing and comfort. The next day, we visited her to bring her a care package and she told us that after my prayer, the pain she had been habitually feeling had lifted, allowing her a good night's rest. It was incredible to see and hear how God had healed this woman, and we prayed that her pain would continue to be lifted.

We had a busy weekend and we are thankful for your prayers. The youth conference was a real hi-lite for all of us. The response and relationships have touched our hearts. Today we are off to do some Children's Ministry Training, a womans program and children's program. We are all a little weary from lots of sun and some spiritual attack so we would appreciate your continued prayers.

The team is doing really well here in Malawi. We had a much needed rest day yesterday after our first 5 days. Today we meet with a group of youth leaders in preparation for a big youth conference this coming weekend. "As for me it is good to be near God. I have made the sovereign Lord my refuge. I will tell of all your deeds."

Moni Nonse! (Chichewa for Hello everyone!) It has been a busy few days here in Malawi! We are over our jetlag and have already begun sharing the Gospel. It is very true when you hear Malawi is the warm heart of Africa! We have experianced our first local church, shared some of our programs, and taught some church leaders some useful ministry tools. As a team we have already experienced challenges both mentally and spiritually. Please continue to pray for us! For our saftey and health, but also for the new experiences and challenges we will face (and continue to face) We will update you in a few days!
