SUNDAY SERVICE RECAP

Today our senior pastor preached on the topic "Off the Street" from Luke 10:25-37.

Most of the time, we look at this parable from the outside, watching to see who will stop to help. Today we looked at it from the inside, from the eyes of the man left for dead on the road.

He was traveling from Jerusalem, likely coming straight from worship, when the thieves found him. Serving the Lord doesn't exempt us from hardship, sometimes it's the very road our worship puts us on that leads us straight into it. This man did nothing wrong, life just happened to him. But we know one thing for certain, it will not be our end.

Back then, your clothes told the world who you were. So when the thieves stripped him, it wasn't only theft, it was an attempt to erase him. We know that kind of stripping today too, a layoff, a divorce, a diagnosis, something that quietly redefines how people see you. But even though they could strip him, wound him, and leave him for dead, they could never finish the job. He was left half dead, which means he was still half alive. The enemy wants your eyes fixed on the dying half. Today we were challenged to shift our eyes to the other half. The devil cannot destroy you completely. Life cannot destroy you completely.

That half alive place is exactly where healing begins, not after, but right in the middle of it. Oil was poured into his wound before it had even closed, telling us the anointing was never waiting for the wound to heal first. Some of the most used people around you today are still recovering somewhere, and God is still working through them anyway.

From there, he was carried to the motel, the place of healing. The wound still hurt, but the healing was happening. Healing takes time, and it still hurts, even after the danger has passed. That's not failure, that's the process doing exactly what it was designed to do.

So hear this today: you're not on the street anymore, where the thieves could still reach you. You're off the street, in the motel, still healing, still hurting some days, but held. And that healing has already been paid for in full. Jesus paid it all. You're not lost, you're not forgotten, you're not finished. You're simply healing, and healing was always part of the plan.

SUNDAY SERVICE RECAP
Topic : Empty Cups
Text : Matthew 22:37-40, Psalms 23:5

Jesus gave us one commandment with three dimensions. Love God. Love yourself. Love your neighbour. One connected flow. The first fills the second and the second fills the third. And because Jesus said he loved us the way the Father loved him, love is not something we manufacture. It is something we receive and reproduce.

But some cups have been emptied. By life. By people. By seasons of survival that asked everything and gave nothing back.

Sunday we sat with David. Overlooked by his father. Dismissed by his brothers. Hunted by the king he served faithfully. Pushed into years of doing what he was never called to do just to stay alive.

Yet in the middle of his valley he wrote the words that changed everything : "My cup overflows".
Not after the valley. In it. Present tense.

Four truths we carried home.

1. Some cups are emptied before they are ever filled. The emptying is not evidence God forgot you. It is preparation for what only an emptied person can carry.
2. God does not fill your cup after the valley. He fills it in the valley. The overflow is available now, not when your circumstances improve.
3. When God fills your cup He also heals how you see yourself. David went from forgotten shepherd boy to a man who wrote I am fearfully and wonderfully made. And once he saw his own worth he went looking for Mephibosheth, forgotten in Lo Debar, and brought him to the royal table. Overflow always turns survivors into restorers.
4. Jesus drank a cup He did not deserve so ours could overflow. And sometimes God leads us to drink a cup that is not entirely about us. A cup carried so the next generation does not start from empty. David drank his cup so Mephibosheth could eat at the table. Jesus drank His so every generation after Him could overflow with the love of the Father.

If life has emptied you, do not lose heart.

God still fills empty cups. He still heals how you see yourself before sending you to restore others.

Say after me : "My cup overflows"
