Street Church

Street Church As followers of Christ, Bible believing Christians, we believe that the Bible is the word of God. Friday Night Evangelism 6pm in front of Calgary’s City Hall.

We also believe that what the Bible instructs us to do, we are to do. The Bible, and in fact Jesus himself, told us to go out into the highways and byways. Street Church Ministries is a multi-denominational, multi-ethnical ministry of believers, who have been reborn in the spirit of the Lord, coming together to take part in the call of Acts 1:8. Our vision is to give everyone an opportunity to res

pond to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through the proclamation of the full Gospel. We envision a Street Church in every city and town in Canada, and around the world. Street Church meetings:

Monday Outreach 6pm in front of Calgary’s City Hall. Wednesday lunch church service 11am in front of Calgary’s City Hall. Sunday Church Service at the Gates of the City 1pm in front of Calgary’s City Hall. Street Church Ministries is involved in evangelism every week in the city of Calgary where we go out by the power of the Holy Spirit to proclaim the full gospel, giving everyone the opportunity to respond to Jesus. We know that there is power in the simple message of the gospel. In Romans 15:18, the Apostle Paul states, "For I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me, resulting in the obedience of the Gentiles by word and deed, in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit; so that from Jerusalem and round about as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ." If the focus is on just one part of the gospel, it will not have its full impact. But by focusing on all four areas which Paul talks about (word, deed, miracles and wonders, and the power of the Spirit) we see God work in powerful and amazing ways, just like He did in the book of Acts. By proclaiming the fullness of the gospel, (the truth about Gods wrath, justice, righteousness, and hell, along with the truth about Gods mercy, love, forgiveness, and heaven) we know the Holy Spirit will open the hearts of men and women to Jesus, for it is only the truth that sets people free.

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. - Proverbs 16:18

God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” 7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. - James 4:6-7

And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things, at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. - 2 Corinthians 9:8

God’s grace is His free gift of life and goodness, rooted in enduring love for humanity. It reflects His nature to love without end, providing generously without regard to merit. The Hebrew word “khen” conveys a multifaceted meaning of grace.

It’s an action, and it’s the essence of God’s very nature. He always shows us favor, even when we betray Him or turn our backs on Him. Throughout the Bible, we see the God of the universe consistently finding ways to reconcile with a hard-hearted, fearful, hurting humanity. He loves us, and because of that, He gives us the best he’s got, including himself.

The Colosseum, where we are standing, is the bloodiest amphitheatre in the world!

The Colosseum (the Flavian Amphitheatre) is an elliptical amphitheatre in the centre of the city of Rome, Italy, just east of the Roman Forum. It is the largest ancient amphitheatre ever built, and is the largest standing amphitheatre in the world.

The Colosseum was used to host gladiatorial shows as well as a variety of other events. The shows, called munera, were always given by private individuals rather than the state. They had a strong religious element but were also demonstrations of power and family prestige and were immensely popular. Another major attraction was the animal hunt, or venatio. This utilized a great variety of wild beasts, mainly imported from Africa and the Middle East, and included creatures such as rhinoceros, hippopotamuses, elephants, giraffes, aurochs, wisents, Barbary lions, panthers, leopards, bears, Caspian tigers, crocodiles and ostriches. Battles and hunts were often staged amid elaborate sets with movable trees and buildings. These events could be huge in scale; Trajan is said to have celebrated his victories in Dacia in 107 with contests involving 11,000 animals and 10,000 gladiators over the course of 123 days. During lunch intervals, executions ad bestias would be staged. Those condemned to death would be sent into the arena, naked and unarmed, to face the beasts of death which would literally tear them to pieces. Acrobats and magicians would also perform, usually during the intervals.

The Colosseum is generally regarded by Christians as a site of the martyrdom of large numbers of believers during the persecution of Christians in the Roman Empire, as evidenced by Church history and tradition.

For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. - John 1:16–17

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. - Ephesians 2:8–9

In the Footsteps of the Martyrs Part 2 — "The last gladiatorial games at the Colosseum!"

According to the 5th-century historian Theodoret, a Christian monk named Telemachus jumped into the arena to stop the fighting.

Listen to this incredible story of courage and sacrifice that ended the bloody games. This video was filmed right at the actual location of the events!

But be very careful to observe the commandment and the law that Moses the servant of the LORD gave you: to love the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways, to keep His commandments, to hold fast to Him, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.” - Joshua 22:5

Blessed are those who keep His testimonies and seek Him with all their heart. - Psalm 119:2
