Why should I turn to Christ?

I guess the bigger question is why wouldn’t I?

He voluntarily went through every single thing that every single person has and will experience because He loves us THAT much. He knows and died for us individually. The least I can do is open the door because He is always standing there knocking.

Alma 7:11-13 is the perfect summary of why I strive daily to make Jesus Christ my best friend.

This is my testimony thingy.
I was listening to one of my favorite church songs called Come Unto Christ on my way to work this morning and couldn't help but feel the truthfulness the words sung. One of my favorite lines is 'he's the one who taught forgiveness, and who showed a better way. He's the one who helped the hopeless and those who had gone astray. He's the Savior and redeemer, the bread of life, the prince of Peace. If you're hungry lost or captive, he's the one who sets you free.' I couldn't help but think of all the times when I had been the one in need and Christ had been there. It happens everyday. Our brother wants to help us and is waiting for us to reach out. He is waiting to help us carry out burdens and help us along the path when we stumble. I love Him with all my heart and say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

"I think that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is important because it is full of imperfect people that are teaching perfect truths. It is also very awesome because of the many events that happen."

Wanna know what makes me so happy?

My name is Diana. I’m a creative daughter of God & a disciple of Jesus Christ. I love to write music, dance, make videos, laugh and play sports. I grew up in Peru & Canada. I served a mission in Texas in the Spanish and Portuguese language. Through experience and study, I’ve come to find that living the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me the most joy!! I am comforted, guided and protected every day by the Holy Spirit. I am strengthened and refined by my Savior, Jesús Christ. He is my very best friend. I am loved and blessed by Heavenly Father, who has a plan for each one of us. He knows you! He loves you!

The Atonement of Jesus Christ is something we can access every day. Every hour. Every minute. We were brought to this Earth to learn and grow. I’m so grateful for the Prince of Peace who is cheering us on every step of the way! You can bet your cotton socks that there is nothing more fulfilling, enriching, and empowering than living the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It has, it is, and forever will, change my life. You can come to know more through prayer, studying the Book of Mormon & the Bible, and by coming to Church. I know these things are true, and you can know too. I invite you to come and see for yourself!

Hallelujah! He is my song. Jesus lives!

Is it the nature of a loving God to remove trials whenever asked?

I believe in his wisdom and love he allows time in afflictions so he can teach us to depend on Christ and find happiness because of him.

He helped me have a positive outlook on my struggles, find strength to keep going, and taught me to slow down and see the gifts of the present.

Without continuing trials, I couldn’t have my relationship with Christ!

What does God help you through?

We all have a friend, and its Jesus Christ!

"Something so cool about meeting new people is that we get to know Christ even better through them. We can learn about different pains and sufferings he’s experienced through their pains and sufferings, and we get to learn more about his love, light, and joy through their love, light, and joy!"

Here is Chloe Romeril! Take look at her experience in knowing how God is always there for her!

"Recently I was talking with my cousin about how often people only share their miracle stories, times when they pray and are given an immediate answer. While this does happen, I think often God doesn’t always answer us right away or just give us instant relief from our trials. It can be really hard to be patient and endure while we wait for our hardships to be lightened, especially when God seems to do so for others around us. Satan is good at making us doubt and question God’s love for us. We may even wonder if we just don’t have enough faith. As I’m going through my own trials, sometimes I feel really discouraged because it seems like what I’m going through is not something that will be solved in this life. But when things start to seem hopeless, I begin to notice God’s hand in my life. Even though my trial has not been taken away, God gives me extra blessing of strength which helps remind me that he has not forgotten me and is keenly aware of the challenges I’m facing. The phrase in Doctrine and Covenants “all things wherewith you have been afflicted shall work together for your good” brings me so much peace. I’m so grateful my knowledge of the gospel allows me to have an eternal perspective. Knowing that God has a plan specifically for me brings me so much hope and gives me comfort because my hardships won’t last forever.
I’m grateful God is a loving father who will never abandon us and for a Saviour who has suffered our every affliction so until we rest from every care, we can find strength and peace in Him." - Chloe Romeril

"I saw a post on Facebook yesterday saying 'Ben Platt set to reprise his role as teen in Dear Evan Hansen movie'.
That was it. I read the caption, didn’t click on the link, kept scrolling.

Then at 3am this morning as I was in the kitchen finding a snack I had the thought- 'reprise... what an interesting word'. Somehow there’s a lot of feelings packed into such a little word. It’s almost...nostalgic? Like in a movie or a play, the reprise is like this big scene when all the feelings from the original song come back when they sing it again. It’s powerful. It pulls at your heart.”

So I started thinking about reprises I knew. The “I’m Not That Girl” reprise from the musical Wicked, “You are the Music in Me” the acoustic Troy & Gabriella duet, “One Jump” from Aladdin, and how Ben Platt reprising his most iconic role as Evan Hansen is really like this big return to something great.

I thought about how reprised roles are so powerful? Moving? Emotion-packed? because the person in the public’s mind will always and forever be known as that role. This was their big moment, but time passed and eventually they retired from the role & moved on, but now they’re back! We’re talking Idina Menzel as Elphaba, Ben Platt as Evan Hansen, Lea Salonga as...pretty much any role she’s ever played.

But one person that will never have a reprise is Christ. It’s not like when he died he stopped being Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior of the world; the way actors step off the stage and revert back to being just a person playing a character. He never stopped being our Redeemer. It’s not like at His second coming they’ll advertise it as a “reunion” episode and He’ll come back into the office for the first time since he left and answer all the old prayers left on His voicemail and grant all the blessings people wrote Him letters petitioning for.

He never forgot.
He never stopped thinking about us.
He never stopped being who He promised he would be for us.

Jesus Christ doesn’t get to reprise His role because He never stopped doing his role.

This isn’t a role at all. It’s who He is.

Jesus Christ will never get a reprise because He is constant."

How can you show your constant love for Him?

Here is the testimony of one of our friends!

"My name is Wayne Johnson. I live in Calgary, Alberta and I am currently serving as the Bishop of the Priddis Valley Young Single Adult Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I believe in God and in his Son, Jesus Christ. I have a testimony that God is the Father (creator) of the spirits of all people who have lived, who now live, and who will hereafter live, on this beautiful planet. Flowing from that testimony is a firm belief and understanding that every person in my neighbourhood, my city, my country and indeed in the whole world, is, in a very tangible sense, my brother or my sister.
I believe that Jesus Christ was born into mortality by a miraculous birth and that through His mortal ministry He overcame both temporal and spiritual death. He is the Savior and Redeemer of this world. I believe that the commandments of God, as revealed through ancient and modern prophets, represent loving guidance and counsel from an all-knowing and benevolent being, and that adherence to those commandments is the key to a happy and fulfilling life."
