Stop Looking for the Right One. Start Becoming the Right One.

Dating can be exciting. It can also be exhausting, confusing, disappointing and sometimes deeply painful.

Maybe you’re dating someone right now.
Maybe you’re wondering if a relationship is healthy.
Maybe your heart has been broken.
Maybe you’re divorced or widowed and wondering whether love could ever happen again.
Maybe you desperately want to meet someone.
Or maybe you genuinely feel called to singleness.

Wherever you are, there is room for you in this conversation.

This week in our DIFFERENT series, we’re looking at the beautiful story of Ruth and Boaz and discovering something incredibly freeing:
Dating Differently is less about finding the right one and more about becoming the right one.

We’ll talk honestly and practically about character, chemistry, boundaries, red flags, emotional safety, s*x, community, discernment, singleness, and keeping Jesus at the centre.

And through it all, I want you to remember this:
Your relationship status is not your identity.
Before you are someone’s boyfriend, girlfriend, husband or wife, you are someone created in the image of God and deeply loved by Jesus.

Come exactly as you are. Bring your questions. Bring your story. Bring your hope and even your hurt.

There is no shame, no pressure and no pretending.

Just Jesus, Scripture, wisdom, grace…and maybe a few dating laughs along the way. ❤️

September 13 is going to be a BIG Sunday at Hope Church YYC!

We’re kicking off the fall season AND officially going back to TWO SERVICES! 🙌

*9 AM — First Service
☕ Breakfast treats + certified babysitting available

* 11 AM — Second Service

Different starts with knowing who you are. ♥️

Following Jesus isn’t simply about changing our behaviour. It’s allowing Him to transform the way we see ourselves.

Before Colossians 3:12 tells us how to live, with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. It reminds us who we already are:

Chosen. Holy. Dearly loved.

That identity changes everything.

When we know who we are in Christ, it begins to shape how we love, how we lead, how we serve, how we build, and how we show up for the people around us.

The leaders who leave the greatest legacy aren't always the ones with the biggest platforms.

They're the ones who faithfully invested in people.

They chose character over convenience.
Service over status.
Faithfulness over fame.

Leader Track is about becoming that kind of leader.

When Jesus gets hold of a life, He doesn’t just change what we believe, He begins changing how we understand who we are and how we show up.

In Chapter 6 of our DIFFERENT series, Pastor Abe stepped into a conversation that can be deeply personal: masculinity and femininity through a biblical lens.

Not stereotypes. Not cultural expectations. Something deeper.

When Jesus transforms a man, what kind of man does he become❓
When God shapes a woman, what kind of woman does she become❓

Scripture gives us two powerful pictures:

Different Masculinity → Strong Enough to Serve.
Different Femininity → Wise Enough to Build.

And when we understand that we are first chosen, holy and dearly loved (Colossians 3:12), it changes the way we lead, love, serve, build, and use the voice God has given us.
