Do all religions point to the same God?

It's one of the most-asked questions about faith today β€” and one of the hardest for the church to answer without sounding either arrogant or wishy-washy.

This Sunday, September 6th, we're tackling it head-on in our "Honest Questions" series: The Diverse Field.

You can't plant winter wheat and harvest corn β€” reality has a specific shape. So what does it mean when Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life"? Is that arrogance... or is it the most loving thing anyone could say to a person standing at a river they can't swim?

Come wrestle with it with us. Skeptics, seekers, and lifelong believers all welcome β€” that's the whole point of this series.

Some of you have had a quiet Tuesday night like this.

You did the things. Built the career, bought the house, curated the life. And standing on top of it, you thought: is this it?

Our culture hears that hollowness and calls it a problem to be managed β€” distract it, medicate it, scroll past it. This Sunday I want to make a different case: that the ache isn't your failure. It's your architecture.

Week 2 of Honest Questions β€” "The Empty Silo." We'll take an old, startlingly modern book of the Bible, a farm image you've driven past all your life, and one of the most compelling arguments for God I know.

If you've heard the echo, this one's for you.

Ever feel like you're living next door to the fairgrounds β€” and the noise never stops? 🎑

The headlines. The alerts. The economy on a knife's edge. Wave after wave of bad news, pressing on your soul and wearing you down.

Into all that noise, one Voice still speaks. Quiet. Steady. Calling you by name.

Join us this Sunday at Grace United Church for "Good News for Life" β€” a message from John 10 about the Shepherd who knows your name, guards your gate, and offers a peace the chaos simply cannot reach.

He was sixteen when the soldiers took him. He watched them carry the temple cups out of the smoke of Jerusalem. He served four kings, survived a den of lions, and read the writing on the wall β€” literally.

And on the night the "eternal" city fell... he was there.

This Sunday at Grace United, something a little different: no sermon points, no fill-in-the-blanks. Just an old man named Daniel, telling one last story to anyone brave enough to listen β€” about beasts and thrones, wheat and chaff, and the one Kingdom the wind can't carry away.

If the news has you anxious about where the world is heading, this story was told for you.

There is a longing inside all of us for a life of quiet courage.

A part of us wants to be the kind of person who doesn't crumble when the pressure is on. But too often, we treat faith like a ladder we have to climb, exhausting ourselves trying to reach the top. What if that longing for a life of integrity isn't a call to work harder, but an invitation to commune deeper? This week at Grace United Church, we are uncovering the substance behind the shadows of our favorite Bible stories. We are looking at how an ordinary life is transformedβ€”not by manufacturing bravery, but by sitting at the Lord's table. It is about planting ourselves like a tree by the water, drawing up strength from Jesus, the true and better Daniel who walked out of the tomb at dawn.

Whether you feel like you are standing strong on the mountaintop or sitting quietly in the dark, there is a place for you here.

Have you ever seen one of those "loyalty test" videos online? The ones where an interviewer sets up a hidden camera and texts someone's partner to see if they will take the bait when they think no one is watching? We watch them and cringe because we know that loyalty is the beating heart of real love. But what if the world, the flesh, and the enemy are running a loyalty test on you every single day? The text doesn't come from a stranger, but from a thousand different directions: "Nobody's really watching. Just this once." This Sunday at Grace United Church, we are diving into Daniel 3 and the ultimate loyalty test. When the music plays and the pressure is on, who gets your loyalty? More importantly, when we inevitably fail the test, where do we find our rescue? Spoiler alert: Your hope isn’t your loyalty to God β€” it’s His loyalty to you. Join us this Sunday as we meet the Fourth Man in the fire. πŸ“ Grace United Church, CaledoniaπŸ•˜ June 28th at 10:30

🌊 This Sunday at Grace United β€” we're starting a brand new series in the book of Daniel.
If you've ever floated down the Grand on a hot summer day, you know the feeling: close your eyes for five minutes, open them, and you've drifted way further than you thought. Life works the same way. The current of busyness, pressure, and endless scrolling is relentless β€” and most of us aren't trying to drift. We're just tired.
This week we meet a teenager dropped into the most overwhelming culture of his day, and we discover how he learned to swim upstream. The big idea? Decide now, so you don't have to decide then.
Come find out who's really feeding you β€” and why it matters more than you think.
