Who here loves power bills?
Ok, ok, now that I have your attention(good or bad). Imagine a universal power source that you could plug all your gadgets, appliances even your house into. Oh yeah, it's also wireless if need be.
Now imagine that this source is not only free, but is unlimited in its supply. You plug your things into it, and suddenly they work better, last longer, run stronger. The dishwasher cleans every dish the FIRST time. The vacuum cleaner almost sucks up too much stuff. The ac is always cold during our one month of summer, and the heat is amazing the rest of the year. Why would we ever purposely disconnect our home from such an amazing source?
You know where I'm going with this, of course; but have you ever thought of what would happen if we plug things into the wrong sources? I've been very interested in electronics from a very young age, and can speak from experience. If you plug something into the wrong source, or adapter, you may get a zzzzz noise. You may even get a puff of smoke or even flames(please don't try this).
A good friend and mentor just recently reminded me of this amazing verse.
Philippians 4:13 says:
- I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.
If we are connected to God's infinite power, there's no doubt, we are still human. The difference is He is there with you every step of the way to supply all the strength you need to serve Him and others. To hold firm in your faith no matter the challenge. You may feel as though you're not able to talk to someone about Jesus, or help someone in need. If you're "plugged in" to God, what could possibly be stopping you? If you're seeking strength elsewhere, the slightest bumps in the road will undoubtedly keep your feet where they are, your tongue from spreading the good news of Jesus. It can even cause a short circuit, burnout, or other unpleasant side effects.
How do we plug into the only source that we have been designed to plug into? Read your Bible, pray ever day, and you'll grow grow grow. Simple words from a song we often teach children. Easy for kids to understand, right? How about you and me? I know I often fall short, but God is always there, right when I need Him.
It's my prayer today that no matter what you may be facing today, you are not facing it alone. That you are tapping into God's unlimited source of power and love. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
