Hey CityLights and friends! Tomorrow we are headed to the beach for our end of summer brunch potluck! We kicked off summer with baptisms and fun together at Locarno beach, and now we want to wrap up our summer series back at the beach! 🥳🙏🙌⛱️🌊
So we hope you can join us tomorrow at 10AM (ish) at Locarno Beach Concessions - just to the right hand side if your looking at the ocean is a grassy area with a picnic table! We will set up two tents incase of rain! ☔️ but do come prepared for cooler weather! If you have any question please DM here! Please bring an item/ brunch dish to share (with serving utensils).

See you there for some music, evidence of grace sharing, prayer and learning about how Jesus meets us “in our everything” as we explore the psalmist emotion of “surprise”!

Come join us tomorrow at 10AM @ the Centre, as we learn more about our faithful God who is with us in all seasons, whether tonight your facing fear and uncertainty or mountaintop joy- he is with you and wants you to experience a freedom of expressing your heart and emotions to Him! Come as you are.. for he loves the “real you”! Come and be known by the One who loves you and has paid it all for you to live in His peace and freedom!
Can’t wait to see you and trust that God will speak and guide you as you seek Him- he is faithful!

Great Celebration Gathering this past Sunday- what a gift it is to sing, pray, celebrate and connect as a community centred around Jesus and his unfailing love. We heard from Donna testimonies of God’s grace and the power of His Spirit touching hearts and transforming lives and the gift of partnering with Him and doing life in community! We heard from Nouver as he shared from scripture- about the raw and real psalms and how anger is a part of our human expression. It is not good or bad, but instead is a need to be heard. Anger is often expressed when there is a felt gap between our reality and our longing for restoration! Anger can help reveals our values, enable us to endure painful circumstances and often spurs us to action! But we must bring these things to Jesus who knows our heart and struggles and wants to meet us in our anger! We follow a crucified Christ- who surrendered everything to the Father. We in turn get invited to surrender our right for revenge or control- trusting the One who knows and holds it all.

Here are some Revealing Questions he invited us to process with God:
1. What are you angry about?
2. Where and how have you suppressed anger recently?
3.What does Jesus want to say to you?
4. What is Jesus inviting you to do?

Some journal prompts for your reflection this week! May the Holy Spirit fill and guide you as you seek His voice and leading!

Aw wow the beauty of nature is breathtaking at times! Take a breath! Breathe deep and remember that the God who formed the mountains, lakes, rivers and oceans… also formed and shaped YOU! “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.”

He is LOVE and created you to know Him and live in His love and light. We’re exploring some of the themes expressed in the book of Psalms this summer and this Sunday we will meet at the Centre, 10AM to dive into the emotion of “mad” and how God wants to hear our heart in all seasons -our genuine cries- and how he meets us in these moments! What is your heart crying out for, today? - bring it to Jesus! He know every part of you and wants to speak to you! See you tomorrow!! 🙏❤️👏

To be a gospel light, we are dependent on the Holy Spirit to empower, guide and reveal God’s love through our life, words and actions…and through how we love one another! It is outside of the church building that we get to shine the brightest to a dark world desperate for hope, love and peace! This Sunday is Missional Community Sunday- so there will be NO GATHERING at the Centre- instead this is a time we get to gather in smaller groups to love, equip and encourage one another and go out to see and meet those whom God is drawing to Himself. We will meet in homes and outside locations to make Jesus known! Join us from 10am. If you are new to the community and unsure where to connect- please DM! HERE’S A BEACH LOAD OF JOY FOR YOU ALL AS WE HEAD INTO THIS WEEKEND!! ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏👏👏🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

WHAT AN EPIC BAPTISM SUNDAY AND CELEBRATION!! We thank God for all he HAS, IS and WILL CONTINUE TO DO in and through the wonderful Laurie, Dustin and Zach! We were so proud of each of them sharing so powerfully the way that God has transformed their hearts -giving glory to Jesus and how He saves, and has brought healing and life to them! Baptism is the outward or public confession of the inward relationship of loving and committing to follow Jesus all their days! We were so blessed and grateful to be witnesses to this special day alongside friends and family! Was quite the walk to the ocean- but so worth it!
What a victory - Be encouraged….Jesus is LORD! He is alive, active, and drawing people to himself TODAY! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Come celebrate our incredible God as a community and all that He is doing in the lives of people here in Vancouver and beyond! Jesus is our victory and we are so excited for those who have decided this is the time to take their next step in following wholeheartedly after Him! Jesus is transforming lives, TODAY!!! 🙌🙌🙌🙌🎉🎉🎉🎉🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Baptism is a beautiful symbol and public witness of our internal relationship with Jesus and desire for him to lead- be King of our lives. As we go into the water we recognize that we are surrendering/dying to our old ways of self and as we come up out of the water that we are being raised to life IN CHRIST as a new creation! It is a great celebration moment and we CAN’T WAIT!

Hey all, it’s MISSIONAL COMMUNUTY SUNDAY TOMORROW - which means NO gathering at the Centre! Different groups of people from all walks of life meet together regularly in our community, as we learn how to live out our purpose and identity as disciples. We are growing in how to place Jesus and His mission at the centre of all of life- to shine His love and light to all, to make Him known! These once a month Sundays give time for us to grow together, to love one another and those God has placed around us! Go, Shine bright CityLights! Happy weekend CityLights and friends!
We were so inspired, challenged and encouraged through Ryan’s beautiful teaching this past Sunday- with the invite to be fully known by the One who fully loves you. He shared about generosity and how we can often want Jesus…AND… something else, to ensure we cover ourselves incase our God doesn't quite come through! The challenge resonated to consider “what is that thing that we fear Jesus won't meet us in/ what are we needing to surrender to the God who NEVER fails!
Thank you so much Ryan 👏🙏❤️! And too all who shared their gifts and served to make Jesus known! You are a blessing!

We continue our series if ‘walking in His ways’ this Sunday with Joel sharing about ‘suffering’. It's going to be a great time of connecting with God and others do we invite you as always- Come as you are- your real self, for God loves you and wants to draw close to you!

Also please come and join our last Monday prayer night this coming Monday- 8PM at the Centre! Regardless of your experience with prayer you can come and be a part! It's a gift to be able to pray with and for another!
