Rev. Dr. Vissers shared the history of this powerful hymn with us. WHAT A FRIEND WE HAVE IN JESUS written by Joseph M. Scriven while in Port Hope, Ontario. Originally called Pray without Ceasing. The poem was written for his mother who was living in Ireland.

June marks the start of National Indigenous History Month. The month provides an opportunity to recognize, celebrate, and deepen our understanding of the rich history, heritage, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis.

It is also a time to reflect and acknowledge the ongoing work towards reconciliation. Participate in meaningful opportunities around the city to listen, learn and engage.
