Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day to honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, survivors, their families, and Indigenous communities.

The day calls Canadians to remember the history and lasting legacy of residential schools and to listen to the experiences of Indigenous peoples. For Catholics, it is also an opportunity for prayer, reflection, and a renewed commitment to truth, reconciliation, and respect for the dignity of every person.

May this day encourage us to listen, learn, remember, and continue the work of reconciliation.

The Canadian Catholic Indigenous Council and Our Lady of Guadalupe Circle have issued a joint statement for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, offering a Catholic reflection on this important day. Read the statement here: https://bit.ly/4xOumZb
