So, you're not perfect.
Excellent. Same here.
This Sunday at St. John’s we’ll hear how Jesus calls Matthew, not because he has everything sorted, but because grace has a habit of pulling up a chair for unlikely people.
So if you’re curious, cautious, questioning, tired, hopeful, messy, or just wondering whether church could possibly be for you…
Jesus has a seat for you.

This Trinity Sunday, we’re thinking about God not as a puzzle to solve, but as a relationship of love into which we are all invited.
Church is not for people who have everything neatly figured out. It’s for the curious, the weary, the hopeful, the doubtful, and anyone who suspects they were not meant to walk through life alone.
You are welcome at St. John’s. Come as you are. We’ll save you a seat... and probably a cup of coffee too.

This Sunday is Pentecost, the day Christians remember the Holy Spirit arriving not quietly and politely, but with wind, fire, courage, and a few startled bystanders.
At St John’s, we believe God is still at work: in old dreams, new beginnings, tired hearts, hopeful communities, and ordinary people who are braver than they think.
Come as you are. Red clothing optional, hope warmly encouraged.

Somewhere along the line, many of us were taught that fitting in was the goal.
Jesus never seemed especially interested in helping people fit in.
He mostly helped people become whole.
So if you sometimes feel a little out of step with the world around you…
that may not be failure. It may just mean your soul is still awake.
(Also yes, our church sign occasionally sounds like it’s having an existential crisis.)
You’re always welcome at St John’s.

That line on the sign… 👀
It sounds simple. It isn’t.
What does it actually look like to live love, not just feel it?
Not when it’s easy, but when it costs something…
when it asks something of us.
This Sunday we’re digging into that, honestly, not perfectly.
Bring your questions, your doubts, your real life.
You’re welcome here.

Comfort isn’t the same as living.
Jesus says he came to bring abundant life, not just safe life.
Curious what that might look like?

Ever had that moment when something was right there…
and you just didn’t see it?
It happens more than we think.
Maybe God’s closer than we realise.

Some of the most honest moments in the Gospel begin with doubt.
Thomas wasn’t shut out for questioning,
he was met, gently, by the risen Christ.
If you’re unsure what you believe, or still figuring things out, you’re in good company. Faith often begins there.
Come and see.
“Peace be with you.”
