This past Sunday was the annual Case for Kids event in support of Wesley Urban Ministries at Bayfront Park in Hamilton. Members of Port Nelson are pictured here (including Wesley the bear!).

A HUGE thanks to everyone who participated and contributed, and to Susan Redgrave for organizing our church's efforts. Port Nelson's team raised over $6,000, putting us in first place among all congregations!

For more information about the good work Wesley does in Hamilton, Halton and Brantford, visit wesley.ca.

You know what that means ... Summer break is right around the corner!

Our GLEE team is putting together another amazing summer of fun for our campers and your young camper can still be part of it.

There are a couple spots left for the week of July 20 to 24. Reserve a place and see why GLEE Summer Camp is our favourite part of Summer!

In 2025, The United Church of Canada offered an apology to 2S and LGBTQIA+ people and communities—naming the real harm caused through words, actions, silence, and systems that failed to protect and affirm God’s beloved people.

This message reflects on that apology—not as an ending, but as a beginning. A threshold into deeper healing, accountability, and transformation.

Pride is more than celebration. It is remembrance. It is resistance. It is a witness to the sacred truth that every identity rooted in love and authenticity is a divine gift.

Radical belonging is not optional—it is at the heart of the Gospel. May we continue the work of becoming a church that learns, acts with courage, and lives out love in word and deed.

This past Sunday, May 31 we were overjoyed to present the Port Nelson Youth Award for 2026 to August, a grade 12 student at Nelson High School who is doing amazing things in the area of inclusion, particularly with the arts and drama.

Congratulations, August!

The Port Nelson Youth Award celebrates the contributions of young people who have made a significant difference in their community, particularly in the area of inclusion of 2S and LGBTQIA+ people.
