We believe that God cares for all people and is constantly calling on us to make a difference in the community and around the world. a welcoming church where you can find a spiritual home for you and your family. a place for community, companionship and fun. a church where you can recharge your batteries. a place for meaningful relationships and support. an inclusive church where all people are welcomed. a church where we pride ourselves on being a family ministry where all children are included in all aspects of the community. Today we are living in a growing and ever-expanding community whose pace becomes more hectic by the day. At Knox we believe that God calls us to be a congregation of Christ’s Church in the world. We are responsible for extending God’s love, as exemplified by Jesus Christ to our families, neighbours, local and global communities. In September 2010, Knox took a bold step to seriously review our church organization and as a result realized we were spending too much time in meetings. We have streamlined our governance structure to give people autonomy to achieve the work of our church with an absolute minimum of meetings. We feel people should contribute to the Knox fellowship in the ways they are most comfortable with and capable of. Numerous task teams have been created, some with only one annual task, some with frequent tasks but all focused on responsibilities. Knox is still visioning, changing and growing and we are open to anything as we aim to be a vibrant church in today’s world.

Today we commemorate Davis Day.

We honour the sacrifice of William Davis, a New Waterford miner who was killed over 100 years ago. His death marked a turning point in our history, and his legacy continues to inspire our pursuit of fairness, safety, and dignity.

On June 11, 1925, Davis and his fellow miners stood against the British Empire Steel Corporation. At the time, miners faced hazardous conditions, long hours, and low pay.

During the strike, a group of miners went to the company’s power plant to demand that their electricity and water be restored. In the ensuing violence, William Davis was shot and killed.

His sacrifice reminds us that workplace protections were not given; they were hard-won through courage and solidarity. William Davis gave his life "standing the GAFF."

His story inspires us to protect what we have achieved and demand better for future generations. We must never forget where these rights came from or take for granted the struggle required to maintain them.

Happy Pride Month Colchester!

While we are unable to hold a flag raising ceremony in person due to our building renovations, we will be proudly flying the Pride Flag during Colchester’s Pride week!

We are excited to share that we are going to be supporting many of Truro Pride Society's great events throughout the month!

We are inviting you to join us for our Pride Rocks Challenge and help spread a little colour, kindness, and Pride throughout Colchester.

Paint a colourful rock and hide it somewhere in your community for others to find spreading joy for Pride Month & beyond. Whether you join us at one of our paint parties or gather your own school group, club, friends, or family to create together, everyone is welcome to take part.

Let’s brighten our communities with rainbow rocks, celebrate inclusion, and show our allyship across Colchester! Don’t forget to share a photo and tag Colchester and Truro Pride so we can celebrate with you. Earth Smart Note: Let’s do our part to protect the planet. If you choose to hide your rock for someone else to find, aim to leave them in a space that won’t disrupt the natural environment!

June 4, 2026, marks the 300th anniversary of the signing of the Peace and Friendship Treaty of 1726. Ratified between Mi’kmaw, Wəlastəkokewiyik, and Peskətəmohkatewey leadership and the British Crown at Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, this living agreement established relationships based on mutual respect, cooperation, and shared use of the land. As we remember this milestone, we honour the enduring spirit of the Peace and Friendship Treaties and the ongoing responsibilities they represent today.
