Why is Deg (Karah Prasad) offered?
In Sikh tradition, offering Deg (Karah Prasad) is a symbol of gratitude, devotion, selfless service (seva), and sharing God’s blessings with others.
People commonly offer Deg:
* To thank Waheguru for His blessings.
* When a wish or prayer has been fulfilled.
* To pray for someone’s health, well-being, or success.
* As an act of selfless service in the Gurdwara.
Karah Prasad is distributed equally to everyone, regardless of background, reflecting the Sikh values of equality, humility, and sharing with others.
